2021 Lebanese Elite Cup
The 2021 Lebanese Elite Cup was the 23rd edition of the Lebanese Elite Cup. The competition included the six best teams from the 2020–21 Lebanese Premier League season. The first matchday was played on 12 July, one day before the start of the 2021 Lebanese Challenge Cup. Shabab Sahel, the defending champions, lost to Ahed in the semi-finals. Nejmeh Sporting Club ( ar, نادي النجمة الرياضي, lit=The Star Sporting Club) is a football club based in Manara, a district in Ras Beirut, Beirut, Lebanon, that competes in the . The club was established in Beirut in 1945, and received its license in 1947. Nejmeh's board is affiliated with the Future Movement and the Hariri family. Historically, the club is second only to their cross-city rivals Ansar in the Lebanese Premier League and the Lebanese FA Cup. Nejmeh, however, lead in Lebanese Elite Cup titles. Mahmoud Mohamed Siblini ( ar, محمود محمد سبليني; born 15 July 1993) is a Lebanese footballer who plays as a striker for club Shabab Sahel. Starting his career at Ahli Saida in 2011, Siblini moved to Nejmeh in 2014 before being sent on a season-long loan to Tadamon Sour in 2017. Siblini finished joint-top scorer of the 2021–22 Lebanese Premier League with Nejmeh. He joined Ahed in 2022 and Shabab Sahel in 2023. ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib ( ar, عَلِيّ بْن أَبِي طَالِب; 600 – 661 CE) was the last of four Rightly Guided Caliphs to rule Islam (r. 656 – 661) immediately after the death of Muhammad, and he was the first Shia Imam. The issue of his succession caused a major rift between Muslims and divided them into Shia and Sunni groups.
