Leah Johnson (volleyball)
Leah Michele Johnson (born July 20, 1981) is an American former volleyball player and current head coach for the Michigan State Spartans women's volleyball team. Personal life Johnson is a native of Fair Grove, Missouri. She played volleyball at her high school Marshfield High School. She played collegiately for Southwest Missouri State University. She has a bachelor's degree in Spanish and master's degree in International Affairs and Administration, both from Missouri State. She is married to A.J. Weissler and the couple has two children, Edith and PJ. Playing career Johnson played volleyball for Southwest Missouri State University from 2000–2003. Johnson served as a team captain and helped the team to four-straight seasons with 20 or more wins and a Missouri Valley Conference regular season title in 2003. 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Tournament
The 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Tournament began on December 2, 2021 and ended on December 18th, 2021, to determine the Division I National Champion in women's volleyball. Wisconsin won its first NCAA National Championship by defeating Big Ten rival Nebraska 3–2. The championship match was played in front of an NCAA record crowd of 18,755. The Final Four was held at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. The national semifinals were held on December 16 and the championship match was held on December 18. Kentucky, from the Southeastern Conference, was the defending national champion. The Wildcats were eliminated in the second round to Illinois. Cathy George
Cathy George is a college women's volleyball coach. She began her coaching career at North Dakota State, coaching there for two years. She moved on to coach Texas-Arlington and made the NCAA tournament twice with the team. She coached Western Michigan next, appearing in the NCAA tournament in 2000 and receiving MAC Coach of the Year. George was most recently the head coach of the Michigan State Spartans and retired at the end of the 2021 season. Early life Cathy George graduated from Illinois State in 1985. She lettered in volleyball all four years at the university. While on the team, they won three consecutive conference titles and had three consecutive NCAA tournament appearances. George was a team captain. She also earned All-MVC three times. George earned her Master's degree in Education from Central Michigan in 1987. She is married and has two sons.
