League Of The Rural People Of Finland
The League of the Rural People of Finland (also known as the Finnish Agrarian Party, fi, Suomen Maalaisväestön Liitto) was a political party, which was established in Oulu party meeting on 18–19 September 1906. Its chairman was Otto Karhi. In the next party meeting in Seinäjoki, 26–27 October 1906, the opener, Otto Karhi emphasized that the party is for defending the rights of the rural people. Oulu

Otto Karhi
Otto Karhi (originally Lindgrén, 17 April 1876 – 7 June 1966) was the first Chairman of Centre Party, then the League of the Rural People of Finland from 1906 to 1908. He was a member of the Parliament of Finland from 1907 to 1908 and again from 1909 to 1913 from Oulu southern electoral district. He quit the Agrarian League in 1914 and stayed passive politically some years. Karhi was born and died in Oulu. In 1918 he was elected to the city council of Oulu as a representative of the Social Democratic Party of Finland and became re-elected until 1964. His main work after the entrepreneurial career was to be the managing director of Oulun Osuuskauppa, the Cooperative regional stores in Oulu region from 1916 to 1964. Seinäjoki
Seinäjoki (; "Wall River"; la, Wegelia, formerly sv, Östermyra) is a city located in South Ostrobothnia, Finland; east of Vaasa, north of Tampere, west of Jyväskylä and southwest of Oulu. Seinäjoki originated around the Östermyra bruk iron and gunpowder factories founded in 1798. Seinäjoki became a municipality in 1868, market town in 1931 and town in 1960. In 2005, the municipality of Peräseinäjoki was merged into Seinäjoki, and in the beginning of 2009, the neighbouring municipalities of Nurmo and Ylistaro were consolidated with Seinäjoki. Young Finnish Agrarian League of the Southern Ostrobothnia ( fi, Etelä-Pohjanmaan Nuorsuomalainen Maalaisliitto) was a party established on 21–22 October 1906 in Kauhava. It worked as an internal fraction of the Young Finnish Party ( fi, Nuorsuomalainen Puolue) or Constitutional-Fennoman Party ( fi, Perustuslaillis-Suomenmielinen Puolue). The strong man of the party was Santeri Alkio, who became elected as a member of the parliament of Finland on the list of Constitutional-Fennoman Party. Parliamentary elections were held in the autonomous Grand Duchy of Finland on 15 and 16 March 1907. They were the first parliamentary election in which members were elected to the new Parliament of Finland by universal suffrage and the first in the world in which female members were elected. Background The election followed the parliamentary reform of 1906 which replaced the Diet of Finland, which was based on the Estates and had its institutional roots in the period of Swedish reign, with a modern unicameral parliament of 200 MPs.
