Leading Group On Innovative Financing For Development
The Leading Group on Innovative Financing for Development is a global platform made up of 55 member countries with differing levels of development, operating alongside international organisations and NGOs. Formerly known as the Leading Group on Solidarity Levies to Fund Development, the Leading Group seeks to promote the implementation and definition of innovative financing mechanisms around the world. Formed in 2006, the Leading Group is coordinated by the Permanent Secretariat which is located in Paris at the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. Non-governmental Organization
A non-governmental organization (NGO) or non-governmental organisation (see spelling differences) is an organization that generally is formed independent from government. They are typically nonprofit entities, and many of them are active in humanitarianism or the social sciences; they can also include clubs and associations that provide services to their members and others. Surveys indicate that NGOs have a high degree of public trust, which can make them a useful proxy for the concerns of society and stakeholders.
