Lea Bouwmeester
Lea Theodora Bouwmeester (born 3 October 1979 in Hoogeveen) is a Dutch politician and former civil servant and social counselor. She is a member of the Labour Party (Partij van de Arbeid) and was an MP between 30 November 2006 and 23 March 2017. She focused on matters of prison system, mental health care, addiction and drug rehabilitation. Bouwmeester went on pregnancy and maternity leave from 1 March 2016 to 10 June 2016 and was temporarily replaced by Harm Brouwer. The House of Representatives (, pronounced ; commonly referred to as the ', literally "Second Chamber of the States General") is the lower house of the bicameral parliament of the Netherlands, the States General, the other one being the Senate. It has 150 seats, which are filled through elections using party-list proportional representation. Generally, the house is located in the Binnenhof in The Hague, however, it has temporarily moved to the former building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Bezuidenhoutseweg 67 in the Hague while the Binnenhof is being renovated. Harm Brouwer (born 4 April 1957) is a Dutch politician who was a member of the House of Representatives for the Labour Party between 6 July 2016 and 23 March 2017. He previously served twice as a temporary member of the House, most recently from 1 March 2016 to 10 June 2016, when he replaced Lea Bouwmeester while she was pregnant and on maternity leave. Hoogeveen
Hoogeveen (; nds-nl, 't Ogeveine or '' 't Oveine'') is a municipality and a town in the Dutch province of Drenthe. Population centres Elim, Fluitenberg, Hoogeveen and Noordscheschut, which still have the canals which used to be throughout the town. Other villages of the town are Hollandscheveld, Nieuw Moscou, Nieuweroord, Nieuwlande, Pesse, Stuifzand and Tiendeveen. History Hoogeveen dates its history to 20 December 1625, when Roelof van Echten bought a large tract of peat land from farmers of the district with the plan to harvest its peat. One old map of the area called it ''Locus Deserta Atque ob Multos Paludes Invia'', a deserted and impenetrable place of many swamps. Hoogeveen itself was established in 1636 by Peter Joostens Warmont and Johan van der Meer.
