Lawrence Roberts (footballer)
Lawrence Roberts was a Scottish footballer who played as a centre forward. He played local football for Renton before joining Football League First Division side Burnley in February 1920. Roberts made his debut for on 14 February 1920 in the 2–0 win over Manchester City, but was replaced by James Twiss for the following match against Sheffield Wednesday. The Football League First Division was a division of the Football League in England from 1888 until 2004. It was the top division in the English football league system from the season 1888–89 until 1991–92, a century in which the First Division's winning club became English men's football champions.
