Law Of The North
''Law of the North'' is a 1932 American Western film directed by Harry L. Fraser and starring Bill Cody, Andy Shuford and Nadine Dore.Pitts p.184 It was the penultimate Monogram Pictures eight-film Western film series "the Bill and Andy series", with Bill Cody co-starring with child actor Andy Shuford. Plot Bill Roberts is presumed to have murdered a man when he is found near the body and flees from his pursuers. He surrenders but finds that Judge Hanley is very keen to have him hung as soon as possible. The body of the supposedly murdered man vanishes with the judge finding himself pursued by the "Law of the North". Heinie Conklin (born Charles John Conklin; July 16, 1880July 30, 1959) was an American actor and comedian whose career began in the silent film era. Early years Conklin was born Charles John Conklin on July 16, 1880, in San Francisco, California. He attended San Francisco's public schools. Career In vaudeville, Conklin headlined shows on the Keith and Orpheum circuits. He was billed as Charles Conklin until 1927. He began working in films in 1915 after 17 years on stage and in vaudeville. One of the original Keystone Kops, Conklin wore makeup of heavy eyebrow lining and a thin, upside-down, painted-on variation of Kaiser Wilhelm's mustache. In areas where anti-German sentiments still ran high during the post-World War I era, Conklin was billed as Charlie Lynn. Trem Carr
Tremlet C. Carr (November 6, 1891– August 18, 1946) was an American film producer, closely associated with the low-budget filmmaking of Poverty Row. In 1931 he co-founded Monogram Pictures, which developed into one of the leading specialist producers of B pictures in Hollywood. In 1935, the company was merged into the newly created Republic Pictures, but a year later, Carr broke away and reestablished Monogram as an independent company. Following his death in 1946, Monogram changed its name to Allied Artists and began producing films made on higher budgets.
