Laviana
Laviana ( Asturian: ''Llaviana'') is a municipality in the Autonomous Community of the Principality of Asturias, located in Spain. It is bordered on the north by Bimenes and Nava, on the south by Aller, on the east by Piloña and Sobrescobio, and on the west by San Martín del Rey Aurelio and Mieres. Situated in the basin of the Rio Nalon, it is a terminal for the FC de Langreo railway, now subsumed by FEVE, which connects it to the port of Gijón. Economy Mining, agriculture and stock-rearing have been the principal industries since the early 20th century. Ferrocarril De Langreo
Ferrocarril de Langreo or FC de Langreo (FCL) was a Spanish railway company which operated a line, in the Autonomous Community of Asturias, in northern Spain. It was the third train line constructed in Spain and was built during the 1850s. History The private railway focused on moving coal and iron ore from the mines of Laviana and Langreo and the factory of La Felguera to Gijon. It was the only non-urban Spanish railway built to near-standard gauge, which often led it to look for second-hand rolling stock, mainly from the United States. Sobrescobio
Sobrescobio (; ast, Sobrescubiu) is a municipality in the Autonomous Community of the Principality of Asturias, Spain. It is bordered on the north by Piloña, on the east by Caso, on the south by Aller, and on the west by Laviana. It is situated in the southeast section of Asturias, at the eastern limit of the Nalón mineral basin. It forms part of the Communal Valley of Nalón, together with Langreo, San Martín del Rey Aurelio, Laviana and Caso. With Caso, it forms part of the Parque Natural de Redes. Bimenes
Bimenes is a municipality of Asturias, Spain. It borders with Siero, Nava, Laviana and San Martín del Rey Aurelio. It is situated in the center zone of Asturias. Its capital is Martimporra. It is 32 km away from Oviedo and its main road is AS-25, that runs parallel to the Pra river. The main towns of Bimenes are Martimporra, San Julian, Rozadas, Suares, Melendreros and Taballes. Bimenes was famous of being a municipality full of miners, even though there were no mines in it, but the surrounding municipalities, Laviana and San Martin del Rey Aurelio did have many of them. Piloña
Piloña () is a municipality in the province and autonomous community of Asturias, northwestern Spain. Its capital is the town of Infiesto. Piloña is bounded to the north by Villaviciosa and Colunga, to the east by Parres, to the west by Nava and Cabranes, and to the south by Ponga, Caso, Sobrescobio and Laviana. The area is semi-mountainous with many small, but deep and narrow valleys.
