Lavangsfjorden
or is a fjord in the municipalities of Lavangen and Salangen in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The majority of the fjord is in Lavangen municipality (hence the name of the municipality). The long fjord flows to the northwest and empties into the larger Astafjorden. The deepest point in the fjord reaches about below sea level. The village of Tennevoll lies at the end of the fjord and the village of Ã… lies on the northern shore. Lavangen ( se, Loabák) is a municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Tennevoll. Other villages in Lavangen include Fossbakken and Spansdalen (in the inland areas) and Kjeiprød, Røkenes, Låternes, Tennevoll, Hesjevika, Soløy, and Å (surrounding the fjord). The municipality is the 266th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Lavangen is the 334th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 970. Tennevoll or Tennevollen is the administrative centre of Lavangen Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The village lies about straight east of the town of Harstad. Tennevoll is located at the end of the Lavangsfjorden, along the river Spansdalselva, which flows through the Spansdalen valley. The tall mountain ''Reinbergen'' sits just to the east of the village. The village is located along the northern shore of the Lavangen fjord, about north of the administrative centre of Tennevoll and about east of the town of Harstad. Salangen is a municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Sjøvegan, where most of the people in the municipality live. Other villages include Elvenes, Laberg, and Seljeskog. The municipality is situated along the Sagfjorden in south central Troms county. The municipality is mostly coastal areas around the fjord as well as some inland valleys. Salangen is home to the world's northernmost bat population. Astafjorden
Astafjorden is a fjord (more accurately, a strait) in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. It flows through the municipalities of Salangen, Gratangen, Ibestad, and Tjeldsund. The long fjord flows from the Salangen fjord in the east to the Vågsfjorden in the west. The wide fjord separates the islands of Andørja and Rolla from the mainland. There are several small fjords that branch off this fjord including: Lavangen, Gratangen, Grovfjorden, and Salangen. Name The fjord (and the former municipality of Astafjord) were named after the old ''Ånstad'' farm (Old Norse: ''Arnastaðafjǫrðr''). The first element of the old name comes from the male name ''Arna'' or "Arne", the second element ''staða'' means "home" or "farm", and the last element ''fjǫrðr'' is identical with the word for "fjord". Kunnskapsforlaget () is a Norwegian publishing company based in Oslo. Kunnskapsforlaget was established in 1975, as a partnership between H. Aschehoug & Co. (W. Nygaard) and Gyldendal Norsk Forlag.
