Lausanne Marathon
The Lausanne Marathon is an annual marathon race held in the Swiss city of Lausanne since 1993. The road race generally takes place in October, while the 20 km of Lausanne takes place in April. A half marathon and multiple races (run, walk, and Nordic walk) are also held. The Lausanne Marathon is one of the largest annual sporting events of the Canton de Vaud, and attracts up to 2,500 tourists each year. History The first edition was held in 1993, with the inauguration of the Olympic Museum. In 2005, Ethiopia's Tesfaye Eticha won the men's competition for a record seventh time. In 2009, a record 10,658 runners participated. The 2020 edition of the race was cancelled, three days before its scheduled date, due to a spike of coronavirus cases during the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, with all registrants given the option of obtaining a refund. Becho is one of the Aanaas in the Oromia of Ethiopia. Part of the Southwest Shewa Zone, Becho is bordered on the south by Saden Sodo, on the west by Waliso, on the northwest by Dawo, on the north by Elu, and on the east by Tole. Valentina Enachi (born 15 February 1966 in Chișinău), also known as Valentina Enaki in sports world, is a Moldovan long-distance runner who specialised in road running competitions, including the marathon. She represented Moldova in the event at the 2000 Summer Olympics. She competed mostly in France and won the Tiberias Marathon, Lausanne Marathon and La Rochelle Marathon Career Enaki began her international career representing the Soviet Union. She ran in the British 100 km Championships in 1990 and came second with a time of 8:48:39 hours. She also ran at the Tiberias Marathon that year and won the race in a little over three hours.
