Laurence Maguire
Laurence Henry Maguire (born 8 February 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for Chesterfield. Club career Maguire started his career in the academy at Chesterfield, where he was the captain before being handed his first professional contract by the Spireites on 1 June 2015. He made his professional debut in the club's 2–1 EFL Trophy victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers U23 on 30 August 2016. He then made his League One debut in the 3–3 home draw with Gillingham on 27 September. He scored his first senior goal on 6 December in a 2–0 EFL Trophy win at Rochdale. On 17 February 2017, Maguire was sent out on loan to AFC Fylde of National League North until 21 March. The next day, he made his debut in a 3–1 win over Brackley Town. The 2021–22 National League season, known as the Vanarama National League for sponsorship reasons, was the seventh season as English football's National League, the nineteenth season consisting of three divisions, and the forty-third season overall. The 2020–21 National League season, known as the Vanarama National League for sponsorship reasons, is the sixth season under English football's new title of the National League, the eighteenth season consisting of three divisions, and the forty-second season overall. The 2019–20 National League season, known as the Vanarama National League for sponsorship reasons, was the fifth season under English football's new title of National League, the sixteenth season consisting of three divisions, and the forty-first season overall. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the National League season was initially suspended on 16 March 2020 until at least 3 April. The National League (named Vanarama National League for sponsorship reasons) is an association football league in England consisting of three divisions, the National League, National League North, and National League South. It was called the "Alliance Premier League" from 1979 until 1986. Between 1986 and 2015, the league was known as the "Football Conference"." 2016–17 EFL Trophy
The 2016–17 EFL Trophy, known as the Checkatrade Trophy for sponsorship reasons, was the 33rd season in the history of the competition and the first since being rebranded from Football League Trophy. It was played as a knock-out tournament for English football clubs in League One and League Two of the English football system and for the first time was expanded to include 16 Premier League and Championship "B Teams" with Category One status as part of a trial.
