Lauren Mann
Lauren Mann (born January 27, 1985) is a Canadian curler from Aylmer, Quebec. She currently skips her own team out of Ottawa, Ontario. Career As a junior curler, Mann was the 2002 Ontario Winter Games championship playing third for Laura Payne, and won a silver medal for Ontario at the 2003 Canada Winter Games. Also in 2003, she won the Ontario Junior Mixed Championship playing third for Chris Gardner. In 2005, she lost in the final of the Pepsi Ontario Junior Curling Championships to Erin Morrissey. She was also the runner-up in 2006, losing to Lisa Farnell. In 2014, Mann moved to Quebec and entered the 2015 Quebec Scotties Tournament of Hearts with teammates Amelie Blais, Brittany O'Rourke and Anne-Marie Filteau. She would win the event after posting an 8–2 round robin record, and defeating Roxane Perron in the final. Lisa Farnell
Lisa Farnell (born September 23, 1986 in Toronto) is a Canadian-English curler originally from Peterborough, Ontario. She was the skip of the Ontario team at the 2006 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. In 2006, Farnell and her team of Kim Brown, Darrelle Johnson and Amber Gebhardt won the provincial junior championships, earning the right to represent Ontario at the 2006 Canadian Junior Curling Championships in Thunder Bay, Ontario. At the Canadian Juniors, the team finished with a 5-6 record, tied for sixth place. Farnell would later team up with 2005 provincial champion skip Erin Morrissey to form a competitive team on the women's World Curling Tour. The team made it to their first provincial women's championship in 2010, where they finished with a 5-4 record before losing in a tie-breaker match. 2017 Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2017 Scotties Tournament of Hearts was held from February 16 to 26 at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario. The Rachel Homan rink, representing Ontario, won their third national title; with Homan becoming the youngest skip, man or woman, to ever win three national championships. Her team represented Canada at the 2017 World Women's Curling Championship in Beijing from March 18 to 26. Teams The 2017 Scotties was notable for the presence of many veteran skips from previous Canadian Women's Championship tournaments. The 2017 Quebec Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship of Quebec, was held from January 9 to 15 at the Aréna de Lévis in Lévis, Quebec. The winning Ève Bélisle team will represent Quebec at the 2017 Scotties Tournament of Hearts. The event was held in conjunction with the 2017 Quebec Men's Provincial Curling Championship. The defending champion Marie-France Larouche rink were playing on home-ice in Lévis, but would lose in the final to Montreal's Ève Bélisle. Ève Bélisle
Ève Bélisle (born September 14, 1979) is a Canadian curler from Montreal. She is a three-time Quebec Scotties Tournament of Hearts champion and two-time Quebec Mixed champion. Career Bélisle became one of very few women to ever skip a team to the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship in 2004. Her Quebec team finished the round robin of the 2005 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship with a 4–7 record. The following year, Bélisle won her first women's provincial championships giving her the right to represent Team Quebec at the 2006 Scott Tournament of Hearts. At the Hearts, Bélisle finished the round robin with a 7–4 record putting her in the tiebreaker against Newfoundland and Labrador's Heather Strong. Quebec won the tiebreaker, but lost the 3 vs. 4 page playoff game against the defending champion Jennifer Jones. Marie-France Larouche
Marie-France Larouche (born June 5, 1980 in Lévis, Quebec) is a Canadian curler, who currently skips her own team out of the Club de curling Etchemin in Saint-Romuald, Quebec. In 2022 she won the World Mixed Curling Championship playing third for skip Jean-Michel Ménard. Career Juniors Larouche made her first national debut at the 1995 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, where her team finished round robin with a first place record of 9-2. She would end up losing the semi-final to Ontario's Kirsten Harmark, claiming a bronze medal. Larouche would return to the championship again in 1996, where her team finish 7-5 in round robin, in a four-way tie for third. She would end up losing the tiebreaker to Ontario's Denna Schell. For a third consecutive year Larouche would return to the junior championships in 1997, again finishing in first place after round robin with a 10-2 record. 2015 Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2015 Scotties Tournament of Hearts was held from February 14 to 22 at Mosaic Place in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. The winners represented Canada at the 2015 World Women's Curling Championship held from March 14 to 22 at the Tsukisamu Gymnasium in Sapporo, Japan. Changes to competition format For the first time, the event was to be expanded to include entries from Nunavut, which has never participated in the Scotties, and Northern Ontario, which will now have a berth separate from (Southern) Ontario, as well as separate entries from the Yukon and Northwest Territories, which have historically competed as a single entry.
