Ève Bélisle
Ève Bélisle (born September 14, 1979) is a Canadian curler from Montreal. She is a three-time Quebec Scotties Tournament of Hearts champion and two-time Quebec Mixed champion. Career Bélisle became one of very few women to ever skip a team to the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship in 2004. Her Quebec team finished the round robin of the 2005 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship with a 4–7 record. The following year, Bélisle won her first women's provincial championships giving her the right to represent Team Quebec at the 2006 Scott Tournament of Hearts. At the Hearts, Bélisle finished the round robin with a 7–4 record putting her in the tiebreaker against Newfoundland and Labrador's Heather Strong. Quebec won the tiebreaker, but lost the 3 vs. 4 page playoff game against the defending champion Jennifer Jones. 2017 Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2017 Scotties Tournament of Hearts was held from February 16 to 26 at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario. The Rachel Homan rink, representing Ontario, won their third national title; with Homan becoming the youngest skip, man or woman, to ever win three national championships. Her team represented Canada at the 2017 World Women's Curling Championship in Beijing from March 18 to 26. Teams The 2017 Scotties was notable for the presence of many veteran skips from previous Canadian Women's Championship tournaments. Marie-France Larouche
Marie-France Larouche (born June 5, 1980 in Lévis, Quebec) is a Canadian curler, who currently skips her own team out of the Club de curling Etchemin in Saint-Romuald, Quebec. In 2022 she won the World Mixed Curling Championship playing third for skip Jean-Michel Ménard. Career Juniors Larouche made her first national debut at the 1995 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, where her team finished round robin with a first place record of 9-2. She would end up losing the semi-final to Ontario's Kirsten Harmark, claiming a bronze medal. Larouche would return to the championship again in 1996, where her team finish 7-5 in round robin, in a four-way tie for third. She would end up losing the tiebreaker to Ontario's Denna Schell. The 2017 Quebec Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship of Quebec, was held from January 9 to 15 at the Aréna de Lévis in Lévis, Quebec. The winning Ève Bélisle team will represent Quebec at the 2017 Scotties Tournament of Hearts. The event was held in conjunction with the 2017 Quebec Men's Provincial Curling Championship. The defending champion Marie-France Larouche rink were playing on home-ice in Lévis, but would lose in the final to Montreal's Ève Bélisle. It was Bélisle's first trip to the provincial championships since 2010. Bélisle would defeat Larouche 7-4 in the final, having scored three in the second end and two in the fifth along the way. Doubles curling (most commonly seen as mixed doubles) is a variation of the sport of curling with only two players on each team. Mixed doubles is the most common format of doubles curling, where the term 'mixed' specifies that each team is composed of one man and one woman. 2010 Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2010 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the Canadian women's national curling championship, was held from January 30 to February 7 at the Essar Centre in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The event was described as having a weaker field than normal, as many of the usual provincial champions did not qualify. The event featured only two teams that have won the Scotties before: Jennifer Jones who qualified as last year's champion, and Kelly Scott of British Columbia. Making her first trip to the Scotties as a skip is Saskatchewan's Amber Holland, who won the 2008 Players' Championships. 2010 Players' Championship
The 2010 Grey Power Players' Championship was the last Grand Slam event of both the World Curling Tour and Women's World Curling Tour for the 2009-10 season. This was the eighteenth time the event took place, and the fifth time since it was switched to joint men's/women's format. The event was held at the EnCana Events Centre in Dawson Creek, British Columbia April 13–18. It was the first Players' Championship since 2006 to feature international teams, as Canadian Olympic qualifying points were not on the line. The total purse for each event was $100,000.
