Lauras Bielinis
Lauras Bielinis (born June 30, 1957 in Vilnius) is a Lithuanian political scientist and a professor at Vytautas Magnus University. His research topics include analysis of political text, election technologies, and political communication. Biography From 1976 to 1981, he studied in Moscow State University and earned a master's degree in philosophy. From 1981 to 1983, he worked as an assistant in the Department of Social Science in Kaunas Polytechnical Institute. From 1983 to 1986, he entered Moscow State University's Faculty of Philosophy doctoral studies. From 1986 to 1992, he worked as an assistant in the Department of Social Sciences of Vilnius University. In 1991, he founded ''Politologija'' journal and was its editor-in-chief until 2006. From 1992 to 1993, he was one of the founders of the Lithuanian Centre Union. Gitanas Nausėda
Gitanas Nausėda (born 19 May 1964) is a Lithuanian economist, politician and banker who is serving as the ninth and incumbent President of Lithuania since 2019. He was previously director of monetary policy at the Bank of Lithuania from 1996 until 2000 and chief economist to the chairman of SEB bankas from 2008 until 2018. Nausėda ran as an independent in the 2019 presidential election, which he won with over 66% of the vote in the runoff. Valdas Adamkus
Valdas Adamkus (; born Voldemaras Adamkavičius; 3 November 1926) is a Lithuanian-American politician, diplomat and civil engineer. He served as the 5th and 7th President of Lithuania from 1998 to 2003 and again from 2004 to 2009. Adamkus' first tenure as president lasted for five years, from 26 February 1998 to 28 February 2003, following his defeat by Rolandas Paksas in the 2003 presidential election. Paksas was later impeached and removed from office by a parliamentary vote on 6 April 2004. Soon afterwards, when a new election was announced, Adamkus again ran for president and was re-elected. His approval ratings increased during this period and become a highly regarded moral authority in the state. He was succeeded as president on 12 July 2009 by Dalia Grybauskaitė. Artūras Paulauskas (born 23 August 1953 in Vilnius) is a Lithuanian politician. He was the Speaker of Seimas, the parliament of Lithuania, from 2000 to 2006, and he served as Acting President of Lithuania from 6 April 2004 to 12 July 2004. Early career Artūras Paulauskas graduated from Vilnius University with a degree in law in 1976. He then worked as an investigator and a prosecutor. Presidential elections were held in Lithuania in December 2002 and January 2003. In the first round on 22 December 2002, Valdas Adamkus held a large lead over Rolandas Paksas of the Order and Justice, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). However, Paksas defeated Adamkus in the second round held on 5 January 2003.
