Laugh Resort
The Laugh Resort was a stand-up comedy club in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. For several years it was the only competition to the Yuk-Yuks chain in downtown Toronto. Visiting comedians frequently played at the club, and it became a home of Canada's independent and more alternative comics. The club moved from its location next to The Second City's historic Old Fire Hall to a central downtown location in the basement of the Holiday Inn on King Street in 2000, and closed in 2008 when the hotel chain was sold and the basement space was needed to build a new luxury restaurant. According to the club's website they are still looking for a new location. Mitch Hedberg
Mitchell Lee Hedberg (February 24, 1968 – March 30, 2005) was an American stand-up comedian known for his surreal humor and deadpan delivery. His comedy typically featured short, sometimes one-line jokes mixed with absurd elements and non sequiturs. Hedberg's comedy and onstage persona gained him a cult following, with audience members sometimes shouting out the punchlines to his jokes before he could finish them. Ron Sparks (comedian)
Ron Sparks (born May 20, 1977) is a Canadian comedian, actor, writer and producer. He was born in Chatham-Kent, Ontario and lives in Toronto, Ontario. He is best known as an alternative comedian and frequent guest on CBC Radio's The Debaters, and on TV as a regular and favourite juror on MuchMusic's highest-rated show, '' Video on Trial'', also starring as The Judge in the '' Stars on Trial'' Christmas special and various other ''VOT'' spin-offs.
