Latvia In The Eurovision Song Contest 2024
Latvia was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with the song "Hollow (Dons song), Hollow", written by Dons (singer), Artūrs Šingirejs, Kate Northrop, and Liam Geddes, and performed by Šingirejs himself under his stage name Dons. The Latvian participating broadcaster (LTV) organised the national final ''2024'' in order to select its entry for the contest. Fifteen songs were selected to compete in the national final, which consisted of two shows: a semi-final and a final. In the semi-final on 3 February 2024, ten entries were selected to advance to compete in the final on 10 February 2024 where a public televote and an eight-member jury panel selected "Hollow" performed by Dons as the winner. Latvia was drawn to compete in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 9 May 2024 and was later selected to perform in position 9. Latvijas Televīzija (''Latvian Television'', LTV) is the state-owned public service television broadcaster in Latvia. LTV operates two channels, LTV1 in Latvian and LTV7 (previously called LTV2) in Latvian with selected programming in Russian. Alika Milova (born 5 September 2002), known mononymously as Alika, is an Estonian singer. She represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with the song " Bridges", finishing in eighth place with 168 points. Estonia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom, with "Bridges (Alika song), Bridges" performed by Alika Milova, Alika. Lauren Lucas (born in Columbia, South Carolina, United States) is an American country music artist. She is now with the band Farewell Angelina, being one singer out of four signed with a record label. In her career, she has been signed to a development deal at the age of sixteen by RCA Records Nashville, RCA Nashville and a recording contract in 2003 with Warner Bros. Records.
