Latur Municipal Corporation
The Latur City Municipal Corporation (LCMC) also known as the Municipal Corporation of Latur City (LCMC) was established on 25 October 2011. The Maharashtra Government dissolved the council and approved forming a municipal corporation. Municipal Corporation mechanism in India was introduced during British Rule with formation of municipal corporation in Madras (Chennai) in 1688, later followed by municipal corporations in Bombay (Mumbai) and Calcutta (Kolkata) by 1762. Marathwada
Marathwada () is a proposed state and geographical region of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It was formed during the Nizam's rule and was part of the then Hyderabad State. The region coincides with the Aurangabad division of Maharashtra. It borders the states of Karnataka and Telangana, and it lies to the west of the Vidarbha and east of North Maharashtra regions of Maharashtra. The largest city of Marathwada is Aurangabad. Latur Airport is a public airport located near Chincholiraowadi, west of the city of Latur, in the Marathwada region of the Maharashtra state in India. Shiv Sena (IAST: ''Śiva Sēnā'') () was a right-wing to far-right Marathi regionalist and Hindu ultranationalist political party in India founded in 1966 by cartoonist Bal Thackeray. Originally emerging from nativist movements in Bombay (present-day Mumbai), the party agitated for preferential treatment for the Marathi people over migrants from other parts of India.
