Latino Malabranca Orsini (b. at Rome, year unknown – d. 10 August 1294, Perugia) was a Roman noble, an Italian cardinal of the Holy Roman Church, and nephew of Pope Nicholas III. Early life Latino was son of Roman senator Angelo Malabranca and Mabilia Orsini, the daughter of Matteo Rosso Orsini 'Il Grande'. Mabilia was therefore sister of Giovanni Gaetano Orsini (Pope Nicholas III), Cardinal Giordano Orsini (died 1287), and eight other siblings. The Malabranca family were once said to be a branch of the Frangipani, but this hypothesis has been contradicted. His uncle, Giovanni Gaetano Orsini, a Roman, Cardinal Deacon of S. Latino sine flexione ("Latin without inflections"), Interlingua de Academia pro Interlingua (IL de ApI) or Peano's Interlingua (abbreviated as IL), is an international auxiliary language compiled by the Academia pro Interlingua under chairmanship of the Italian mathematician Giuseppe Peano (1858–1932) from 1887 until 1914. It is a simplified version of Latin, and retains its vocabulary. Interlingua-IL was published in the journal ''Revue de Mathématiques'' in an article of 1903 entitled ''De Latino Sine Flexione, Lingua Auxiliare Internationale'' (meaning ''On Latin Without Inflection, International Auxiliary Language''), which explained the reason for its creation. The term ''Hispanic'' ( es, hispano) refers to people, Spanish culture, cultures, or countries related to Spain, the Spanish language, or Hispanidad. Roberto de Souza Rocha (born February 2, 1973), also known by the stage name Latino, is a Brazilian recording artist and entertainer. Latino has sold more than four million albums along his career. Biography Rocha was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 1988 he moved to the United States, where his mother was living with his stepfather. Rocha stayed there for four years, working as barman, magician, cook, dancer and even as waiter. He was also roadie for David Copperfield, and started performing in bars and nightclubs. Being repeatedly referred as a "Latin Boy" at work, Rocha decided to use "Latino" as his stage name. Going back to Brazil, Latino successfully started his artistic career in 1994, recording his first CD ''Marcas de Amor''. Joseph Nunzio Latino (October 21, 1937 – May 28, 2021) was a bishop of the Catholic Church in the United States. He served as bishop of the Diocese of Jackson in Mississippi from 2003 to 2013. Early life and career Joseph Latino was born on October 21, 1937, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended St. Joseph Seminary College in Covington, Louisiana, and Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans. Latino was ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of New Orleans by then Archbishop John Cody on May 25, 1963. After his ordination, Latino served as an associate pastor at the Cathedral of St. Francis de Sales in Houma, Louisiana. Latinos is a 27-part newspaper series on southern California's Latino community and culture of the early 1980s. The ''Los Angeles Times'' won the 1984 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service for the series. The winning team of two editors and 11 reporters and photographers who were all of Mexican American descent were the first Hispanics or Latinos to win the award. The Pulitzer Prize jury called the series "one of the largest reporting efforts in the newspaper's history" and noted that the news team had conducted over 1,000 interviews.
