Charles Latham
Sir Charles George Latham (26 January 1882 – 26 August 1968), often shortened to simply C. G. Latham, was an Australian politician, former leader of the opposition in Western Australia and the 10th President of the Western Australian Legislative Council. Latham served over twelve years as leader of the state's Country Party, and over thirty years in the Parliament of Western Australia. Latham also served roughly ten months in the Federal Parliament, as a Senator for Western Australia. Biography Latham was born in Hythe, Kent in England, and became an orphan before the age of 8 when his parents Thomas Latham (a coast guard) and Isabella (née Isum) died. Latham moved to New South Wales in Australia with his siblings in 1890 and married Marie Louisa von Allwörden on 24 June 1903 at Hay in the same state. James Latham (painter)
James Latham (c. 1696 – 26 January 1747) was an Irish portrait painter. Biography James Latham was born in Thurles, County Tipperary, in the Kingdom of Ireland. Possibly related to the family of Lathams of Meldrum and Ballysheehan. After some practice of his art, Latham studied for an academic year in Antwerp (1724–25) where he became a Master of the Guild of St Luke. He returned to Dublin by 1725, and may have visited England in the 1740s, as the influence of Joseph Highmore, as well as Charles Jervas and William Hogarth, is evident in his work of this period. Anthony Pasquin memorably dubbed Latham "Ireland's Van Dyck". Latham died in Dublin on 26 January 1747. George Ronald York (February 6, 1943 – June 22, 1965) and James Douglas Latham (April 21, 1942 – June 22, 1965) were an American spree killer duo who are the most recent people to be legally executed by the U.S. state of Kansas. Killing spree In late 1959, York and Latham met at Fort Hood, Texas, where both were privates in the United States Army. Latham had come to Fort Hood from Fort Carson, Colorado, where he had undergone basic training between May and July 1959. Arthur Charles Hubert Latham (10 January 1883 – 25 June 1912) was a French aviation pioneer. He was the first person to attempt to cross the English Channel in an aeroplane. Due to engine failure during his first of two attempts to cross the Channel, he became the first person to land an aeroplane on a body of water. Sir David Nicholas Ramsay Latham, PC (born 18 September 1942) is a retired British judge who was Lord Justice of Appeal and Chairman of the Parole Board for England and Wales. Latham is the son of Robert Latham (1912–1995), editor of the diary of Samuel Pepys, and his first wife, Eileen Ramsay (d. 1969). He was educated at Bryanston School and Queens' College, Cambridge. Christine Elizabeth Latham (born 15 September 1981) is a Canadian former soccer player who played as a forward for the Boston Breakers of Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) and the Canada national team.
