''Late Night at Largo'' is a live album by Tom Brosseau. The album was produced by Mark Flanagan and engineered by Scott Fritz at Largo in Los Angeles, California. Album insight There was no audience present during the recording of ''Late Night at Largo'', as it was recorded after the nightclub's open hours. "How To Grow A Woman From The Ground", "Maryanne", "Lonesome Valley", and "Fragile Mind" were later included on Brosseau's FatCat Records debut, '' Empty Houses Are Lonely''. Bob Russell (April 25, 1914 – February 18, 1970) was an American songwriter (mainly lyricist) born Sidney Keith Rosenthal in Passaic, New Jersey. Career Russell attended Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He worked as an advertising copywriter in New York; for a time, his roommate there was Sidney Sheldon, later a novelist. He turned to writing material for vaudeville acts, and then for film studios, ultimately writing complete scores for two movies: ''Jack and the Beanstalk (1952 film), Jack and the Beanstalk'' and ''Reach for Glory''. The latter film received the Locarno International Film Festival prize in 1962. Edward Kennedy "Duke" Ellington (April 29, 1899 – May 24, 1974) was an American jazz pianist, composer, and leader of his eponymous jazz orchestra from 1923 through the rest of his life. The dreadnought is a type of acoustic guitar body developed by American guitar manufacturer C.F. Martin & Company. The style, since copied by other guitar manufacturers, has become the most common for acoustic guitars. At the time of its creation in 1916 the word ''dreadnought'' referred to a large, all big-gun, modern battleship of the type pioneered by in 1906. Thomas Anderson Brosseau is an American musical storyteller and guitarist, born and raised in Grand Forks, North Dakota, United States. He was awarded Key to the City of Grand Forks by mayor Michael R. Brown in 2007, in part due to his original album of music, ''Grand Forks'', which was dedicated to the people along the Red River of the North who lived through the 1997 Red River flood. Early life Brosseau learned to play acoustic guitar from his grandmother. As Brosseau explains: "I grew up with music in the church, in the school, music at home.
