Late Edition With Wolf Blitzer
''Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer'' is a Sunday talk show hosted by Wolf Blitzer on CNN and broadcast around the world by CNN International. The show's slogan was ''The last word in Sunday talk'' and comments made on the show were often featured in the following Monday's news headlines. The show, launched on October 3, 1993, was moderated by Frank Sesno until January 11, 1998, and by Wolf Blitzer from January 18, 1998 to January 11, 2009. The program aired at 11:00 AM ET and thus was the last of the Sunday talk shows to air in most East Coast markets, hence the name "Late Edition." (It was, however, the first to air on the West Coast, at 8:00 AM PT, since its other broadcast network competitors, including Fox News Sunday, aired on same-day tape delay on the West Coast at various times). Wolf Isaac Blitzer (born March 22, 1948) is an American journalist, television news anchor, and author who has been a CNN reporter since 1990, and who currently serves as one of the principal anchors at the network. He is the host of ''The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer'' and until 2021, served as the network's lead political anchor. Early life Blitzer was born in Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany near Munich in 1948, during post-World War II Allied occupation the son of Cesia Blitzer (née Zylberfuden), a homemaker, and David Blitzer, a home builder. His parents were Polish Jewish refugees from German-occupied Poland who survived the Auschwitz concentration camp; his grandparents, two uncles, and two aunts on his father's side were all murdered there. Frank Sesno is an American journalist, former CNN correspondent, anchor and Washington bureau chief, author, and former director of the School of Media and Public Affairs at The George Washington University. Sesno is also the creator and host of Planet Forward, a web-to-television show on PBS. Sesno is a Professor of Media and Public Affairs at the George Washington University.
