"Last Dayz" is a song by American hip hop group Onyx. It was released on October 3, 1995 by JMJ Records and Rush Associated Labels as the second single from Onyx's second album, ''All We Got Iz Us''. Produced by Fredro Starr, "Last Dayz" making it to number 89 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Instrumental of this song was used in the film 8 Mile for the rap battle between Lotto and B-Rabbit. The song was sampled by more than 10 rap artists including Jus Allah, Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal Technique, and Vinnie Paz. In 2013, the song was re-recorded by Onyx, and released on a compilation album ''Songs of the 90's''. Onyx is an American hardcore hip hop group from South Jamaica, Queens, New York City, formed in 1988 by Fredro Starr, Suavé (also known as Sonny Seeza) and the late Big DS. Sticky Fingaz joined the group in 1991. They are best known for their 1993 platinum hit single "Slam", which ''The Source'' magazine described as a song that introduce the art of slam dancing into hip-hop. The group has released eight studio albums, three of which have charted in the ''Billboard'' 200 albums chart Top 25. James Bostick (born June 30, 1978), better known by his stage name Jus Allah, is an American rapper from Camden, New Jersey. He is best known for being a former member of Philadelphia-based hip hop groups Jedi Mind Tricks (JMT) and Army of the Pharaohs (AOTP). He was involved in JMT since the early days but left before the recording of their first album ''The Psycho-Social, Chemical, Biological & Electro-Magnetic Manipulation of Human Consciousness'', only to rejoin the group a couple years later. EPMD is an American hip hop duo from Brentwood, New York. The duo's name is a concatenation of the members' names "E" and "PMD" or an acronym for "Erick and Parrish Making Dollars", referring to its members: emcees Erick Sermon ("E" a.k.a. E Double) and Parrish Smith ("PMD" a.k.a. Parrish Mic Doc). During an interview on college radio station WHOV in 1987, Parrish Smith stated that the name evolved from the original: "We were originally known as "EEPMD" (Easy Erick and Parrish the Microphone Doctor), but chose to go with EPMD because it was easier to say."
