Las Poquianchis (film)
''Las Poquianchis (De los pormenores y otros sucedidos del dominio público que acontecieron a las hermanas de triste memoria a quienes la maledicencia así las bautizó)'', or simply ''Las Poquianchis'', is a 1976 crime drama film directed by Felipe Cazals, and written by Tomás Pérez Turrent, and Xavier Robles. The film is inspired by the case of the sisters Delfina and María de Jesús González, better known as " Las Poquianchis". Felipe Cazals
Felipe Cazals (28 July 1937 – 16 October 2021) was a Mexican film director, screenwriter, and producer. His wife was Rosa Eugenia Báez de Cazals. Together with Arturo Ripstein, Cazals was considered in Mexico one of the most representative film directors of his generation. With his films ' (1986), ''Las Poquianchis'' (1976), ''El Apando'' (1976), and '' Canoa'' (1976), he was considered to be one of the most creative and bitter-critical filmmakers in the history of Latin American movies. ''Canoa'' was entered into the 26th Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the Silver Bear - Special Jury Prize. Ana Ofelia Murguía
Ana Ofelia Murguía (born 8 December 1933) is a Mexican actress. She was born in Mexico City. Her early well known roles were in '' The Queen of the Night'' (1994) as Doña Victoria and as Doña Amelia in ''Nobody Will Speak of Us When We're Dead'' (1995). In recent years, she is best known for voicing Mama Coco in the 2017 Disney-Pixar animated movie '' Coco''. Murguía holds the record for the most nominations for the Ariel Award for Best Actress without a win, having been nominated a total of five times. Leonor Llausás
Leonor Llausás Tostado (August 3, 1929 - February 13, 2003) was a Mexican television and film actress who appeared in over 100 works of film and television. She was nominated multiple times for the Ariel Awards and won a Best Actress award in 1955 from the film Los Fernandez we peralvillo, in 1975 won Diosa de Plata (Silver Goddess Award) for Las poquianchis. She also was awarded the "Virginia Fabregas" medal of honor by the Mexican National Association of Actors. Biography Leonor Llausás Tostado was born in Durango, Mexico on August 3, 1929.
