Las Grandes Aguas
''Las grandes aguas'' (English title: ''The great waters'') is a Mexican telenovela produced by Carlos Sotomayor for Televisa in 1989. Gonzalo Vega and Alma Muriel starred the protagonists, while José Carlos Ruiz starred as main antagonist. Plot Adaptation of the novel by Luis Spota, which is a testimony to the brutality of man against the life, nature, and destiny. The story begins when Roberto Rivas, an ambitious engineer, is commissioned to build a large dam in a place away from civilization, a small community in which among its people arises only incomprehension, hatred, resentment, passions and betrayals. Telenovela
A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs. Pedro Infante
Pedro Infante Cruz (; 18 November 1917 – 15 April 1957) was a Mexican ranchera music singer and actor, whose career spanned the golden age of Mexican cinema. His popularity spread across Latin America. Infante was born in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, and raised in nearby Guamúchil. He died on 15 April 1957 in Mérida, Yucatán, while en route to Mexico City when his plane crashed due to engine failure. From 1939 until his death, Infante acted in over 60 films (30 of them with his brother Ángel) and recorded over 350 songs. For his performance in the movie ''Tizoc'', he was posthumously awarded the Silver Bear for Best Actor at the 7th Berlin International Film Festival. ''El cristal empañado'' (English title: ''The fogged crystal'') is a Mexican telenovela produced by José Rendón for Televisa in 1989. Mariagna Prats and Jaime Garza starred as protagonists, while Magda Guzmán starred as main antagonist. Plot The story focuses specifically on the life of two women, Paulina, and Virginia who are also raw. Virginia is a woman more, bitter and envious since childhood of the attributes of his cousin, once famous and now decaying vedette. Virginia lives with his daughter Mercedes of butted in the House of Paulina.
