Larry Ziegler
Larry Ziegler (born August 12, 1939) is an American professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour and the Champions Tour. Ziegler was born in St. Louis and grew up in Creve Coeur, Missouri. He was one of 14 children; he had seven brothers and six sisters. He began as a caddie and worked his way up to head club pro. He turned pro in 1959. Ziegler had more than 40 top-10 finishes in PGA Tour events during his career including three wins. He had three top-10 finishes in major championships; his best was T3 at The Masters in 1976. After reaching the age of 50 in August 1989, Ziegler joined the Senior PGA Tour, where he has recorded over 20 top-10 finishes including two wins. Homero Blancas
Homero Blancas, Jr. (born March 7, 1938) is an American professional golfer who has played on both the PGA Tour and the Senior PGA Tour (now known as the Champions Tour). Amateur career Blancas, who is of Mexican American descent, was born in Houston, Texas. He attended the University of Houston from 1958 to 1962, and was a member of the golf team. Blancas shot a record-setting round of 55 (27-28) in a college tournament, which stands as the lowest round in the history of competitive golf. His 13 birdies and an eagle on a par-70 course in Longview, Texas on August 19, 1962 earned him the nickname "Mr. 55." He was inducted into the University of Houston Athletics Hall of Fame in 1978. Hassan II Golf Trophy
The Hassan II Golf Trophy is a golf tournament in Morocco hosted by Prince Moulay Rachid. The tournament was founded by, and is now named for, his father, Hassan II, who served as King of Morocco. The tournament was originally staged as an invitational pro-am and attended by only a handful of top professionals. The winner receives a gold dagger inlaid with jewels. It has been held at the Robert Trent Jones designed Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat every year except for 2011 through 2015, when it moved to Golf du Palais Royal in Agadir. The tournament has been played since 1971, but did not take place from 1986 to 1990, 2004, and 2009. It has been a European Tour event since 2010. Hale Irwin
Hale S. Irwin (born June 3, 1945) is an American professional golfer. He was one of the world's leading golfers from the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s. He is one of the few players in history to win three U.S. Opens, becoming the oldest ever U.S. Open champion in 1990 at the age of 45. As a senior golfer, Irwin ranks first all-time in PGA Tour Champions victories. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in Champions Tour history. Lou Graham
Louis Krebs Graham (born January 7, 1938) is an American professional golfer who won six PGA Tour tournaments including the 1975 U.S. Open. Most of his wins were in the 1970s. Lou Graham was born in Nashville, Tennessee. He started playing golf when he was seven years old. He attended Nashville's Father Ryan High School, and then Memphis State University, now the University of Memphis, in Memphis, Tennessee, where he played on the golf team for three years. Later, Graham was drafted into the U.S. Army. David Graham (golfer)
Anthony David Graham, AM (born 23 May 1946) is a former professional golfer from Australia. He won eight times on the PGA Tour, including two major championships. Early life Graham is from Tasmania, Australia. He is a natural left-hander but "converted" into a right-hander. Professional career At the age of 14, Graham began his first job as an assistant professional at Riversdale Golf Club in Melbourne, Australia. The Liggett & Myers Open was a golf tournament on the PGA Tour. It was sponsored by the Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company. It was played in 1972 and 1973 in conjunction with the U.S. Professional Match Play Championship. After the first two rounds of play, the top eight players dropped from the Liggett & Myers Open and joined eight exempt players to compete in the U.S. Professional Match Play Championship. Victor Regalado
Victor Regalado (born 15 April 1948) is a Mexican professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour. Early life Regalado was born and raised in Tijuana, Mexico. Amateur career As an amateur, he played in tournaments in the San Diego, California area just across the border from his home. He represented Mexico twice in the amateur worlds, the Eisenhower Trophy. In 1970 in Madrid, Spain, finished on top of the individual competition, two strokes ahead of Dale Hayes, South Africa, and the Mexican team finished fifth. Professional career Regaldo turned professional in 1971. He had just over 30 top-10 finishes in PGA Tour events including two wins. His first win came at the 1974 Pleasant Valley Classic. First NBC New Orleans Open
The Zurich Classic of New Orleans is a professional golf tournament in Louisiana on the PGA Tour, currently held at TPC Louisiana in Avondale, a suburb southwest of New Orleans. Beginning in 1938 and held annually since 1958, it is commonly played in early to mid-spring. Zurich Insurance Group is the main sponsor, and it is organized by the Fore!Kids Foundation. First prize reached five figures in 1965, six figures in and passed the million-dollar mark in 2006. The winning team in 2022 split over $2.39 million. Mike Morley
Mike Morley (born June 17, 1946) is an American golf course architect and a former professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour for 14 years. Early life Born in Morris, Minnesota, Morley was raised there and in Minot, North Dakota, where his family later moved during his youth. He graduated from high school in La Jolla, California, in 1964 and then attended Arizona State University in Tempe and was a two-time first-team All-American on the Sun Devil golf team in 1967 and 1968. Professional career Morley won a handful of tournaments as a professional, including the satellite 1972 Magnolia State Classic, and the 1977 Ed McMahon-Jaycees Quad Cities Open; both events were opposite major championships.
