Larry Vickers
Larry Allen Vickers is a retired Delta Force soldier, firearms instructor, and author. He is the founder of Vickers Tactical, and co-founder of the International Pistol Defense Association and Firearms Training Association. Early life Vickers was born in Adams Mills, Ohio in June 1963. His father served in the North African and Italian campaign of World War II. When he was in middle school, Vickers decided that he wanted to join the United States Army Special Forces, and gained an interest in firearms during this period. Vickers entered into the Delayed Entry Program and graduated from Tri-Valley High School in 1981, and graduated from the military in 1982. He joined Delta Force in 1987. Career Vickers participated in Operation Desert Storm, and Operation Acid Gambit, for which he received the Bronze Star Medal. Adams Mills, Ohio
Adams Mills is a small unincorporated community in northeastern Cass Township, Muskingum County, Ohio, United States. It is located on State Route 16 four miles northeast of Dresden. Little more than a grocery stop in the early 20th century, this mostly residential community grew up around the Adams Brothers flouring mill in the 1830s.http://www.gwacenter.org The G. W. History The village of Adams Mills was settled by employees of the George Willison Adams and Edward Adams Flour Mill which was built on the Ohio and Erie Canal locks at this place. The Heckler & Koch HK45 (''Heckler & Koch, .45 ACP'') is a semi-automatic pistol designed by the German arms manufacturer Heckler & Koch. Overview The HK45 was designed to meet requirements set forth in the U.S. Military Joint Combat Pistol program which had the purpose of arming the U.S. Military with a .45 ACP semi-automatic pistol instead of the 9mm M9 pistol. Heckler & Koch developed the HK45 with the help of retired SFOD-D operator Larry Vickers and firearms instructor Ken Hackathorn. The Joint Combat Pistol program was suspended in 2006 and eventually cancelled due to the price of re-arming the entire U.S. armed forces.
