Larry Tittley
Laurent J. "Larry" Tittley (born May 15, 1952), was an all star offensive lineman in the Canadian Football League. Tittley attended St. Thomas High School in Pointe Claire, Quebec, and played football at Vanier College. He has the unique distinction of having played football not only for his alma mater Concordia University, but for both its founding institutions, Loyola College and Sir George Williams University. He was a tackle and centre during his four-year university career. In 1986, he was named to Concordia’s All-Ten Year Football Team. He graduated in 1978 with a BA. He had a successful 10 year CFL career, playing with the Calgary Stampeders (1976 to 1979,) the Ottawa Rough Riders (1980 to 1984) and a final 3 games with the Montreal Concordes in 1985. Loyola College (Montreal)
Loyola College was a Jesuit college in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was founded in 1896 and ceased to exist as an independent institution in 1974 when it was incorporated into Concordia University. A portion of the original college remains as a separate entity called Loyola High School. History Loyola College traces its roots to an English-language program at the Jesuit Collège Sainte-Marie de Montréal (today part of the Université du Québec à Montréal) at the Sacred Heart Convent. In 1896, Loyola College was established at the corner of Bleury Street and Saint Catherine Street. Loyola College was named in honour of Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus. In 1898, following a fire, the college was relocated, further west on Drummond Street, south of Saint Catherine. 69th Grey Cup
The 69th Grey Cup was played on November 22, 1981, at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal, Quebec in front of 52,487 fans. The 1981 Grey Cup game is considered to be one of the ten best Grey Cup games of all time. CFL football fans saw an unexpectedly exciting game, as the 22.5 point underdog Ottawa Rough Riders, sporting a woeful record of 5–11 (which is the worst record in CFL history by any Grey Cup finalist team), came within 3 seconds of denying the Edmonton Eskimos the title. The Esks, with a 14–1–1 record, were almost the victims of what would have been the biggest upset in the history of the Grey Cup. This was the final appearance in the Grey Cup game for the Ottawa Rough Riders, who folded in 1996. A team from Ottawa would not return to the Grey Cup until 2015, when the second-year Redblacks faced off, incidentally, against the Edmonton Eskimos.
