Larry Thurston
Larry "T" Thurston is a soul music, soul, R&B, and blues singer, who sang as the lead vocalist for Matt "Guitar" Murphy, Matt Murphy's band and the Blues Brothers. Career Thurston's musical career began in the early 1980s with St Louis's Soulard Blues Band. His next band was the Blues City Band, followed by The Sounds of The City, which also featured Johnnie Johnson (musician), Johnnie Johnson, a collaborator of Chuck Berry, and the bassist Gus Thornton. Eventually Thurston began working outside St Louis, performing with James Cotton and Matt Murphy. After John Belushi died from a heroin and cocaine overdose in 1982, Blues Brothers guitarist Matt "Guitar" Murphy started his own band, with Larry Thurston as lead singer. When the Blues Brothers reunited in 1988, Thurston was chosen to take Belushi's place as lead singer, alongside soul/R&B artists such as Sam Moore and Eddie Floyd. Sam Moore
Samuel David Moore (born October 12, 1935) is an American vocalist who was a member of the soul and R&B group, Sam & Dave, from 1961 to 1981. He is a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Grammy Hall of Fame (for " Soul Man"), and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. Overview Moore is best known for his work as Sam of the soul music duo Sam & Dave, where he was the higher tenor voice. ''The Blues Brothers Band Live in Montreux'' is an album by The Blues Brothers band. It was released in 1990 on the heels of the band's reunion tour and it's the first album recorded by the band after the death of founding member John Belushi and the only one that doesn't feature Dan Aykroyd. Drummer Steve Jordan and keyboardist Paul Shaffer weren't available to play, and were replaced respectively by Danny Gottlieb and Leon Pendarvis. Vocals duties were assigned to Eddie Floyd and Larry Thurston, who had been previously recruited by Matt Murphy for his short-lived solo outfit Matt "Guitar" Murphy Band. Eddie Floyd
Edward Lee Floyd (born June 25, 1937) is an American R&B and soul singer and songwriter, best known for his work on the Stax record label in the 1960s and 1970s, including the No. 1 R&B hit song " Knock on Wood". Biography Floyd was born in Montgomery, Alabama, and grew up in Detroit, Michigan. He founded The Falcons, which also featured Mack Rice. They were forerunners to future Detroit vocal groups such as The Temptations and The Four Tops. Their most successful songs included "You're So Fine" and later, when Wilson Pickett was recruited into the group as the lead singer, "I Found a Love".
