Larry Hosch
Larry Hosch (born October 16, 1977) is a Minnesota politician and a former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives who represented District 14B, which includes portions of Stearns County in the central part of the state. A Democrat, he was first elected in 2004, and was re-elected in 2006, 2008 and 2010. He previously served as the mayor of Saint Joseph from 2001 to 2005. He retired from the House after the 2012 elections. Hosch was a member of the House Commerce and Labor Committee, and also served on the Finance subcommittees for the Agriculture, Rural Economies and Veterans Affairs Finance Division, the Health Care and Human Services Finance Division, and the Public Safety Finance Division. He was an assistant majority leader. On November 16, 2010, incoming Minority Leader Paul Thissen announced that he will be one of four Minority Whips during the 2011-2012 legislative session. Jeff Howe
Jeff Howe ( ; born June 15, 1959) is an American politician and member of the Minnesota Senate. A member of the Republican Party of Minnesota, he represents District 13 in central Minnesota. He is a former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, representing District 13A. Early life, education, and career Howe grew up on a farm near Chokio, Minnesota, and graduated from Chokio-Alberta High School. He attended St. Cloud State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts. Howe was a member of the United States Armed Forces for 38 years, first in the Navy and later in the Minnesota Army National Guard. He retired in 2017 with the rank of lieutenant colonel. Paul Thissen
Paul Thissen (born December 10, 1966) is an American politician, attorney, and jurist serving as an associate justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court. He previously served as the Speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives and DFL Minority Leader. Thissen was the longest-serving leader of the Minnesota House Democrats since Martin Olav Sabo in the 1970s. A member of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (DFL), he represented District 61B in south Minneapolis. First elected in 2002, Thissen was reelected every two years through 2016. On April 17, 2018, Governor Mark Dayton appointed Thissen to the Minnesota Supreme Court. He was sworn in on May 14, 2018. Stearns County is a county in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 158,292. Its county seat and largest city is St. Cloud. The county was founded in 1855. It was originally named for Isaac Ingalls Stevens, then renamed for Charles Thomas Stearns.
