Jeff Howe
Jeff Howe ( ; born June 15, 1959) is an American politician and member of the Minnesota Senate. A member of the Republican Party of Minnesota, he represents District 13 in central Minnesota. He is a former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, representing District 13A. Early life, education, and career Howe grew up on a farm near Chokio, Minnesota, and graduated from Chokio-Alberta High School. He attended St. Cloud State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts. Howe was a member of the United States Armed Forces for 38 years, first in the Navy and later in the Minnesota Army National Guard. He retired in 2017 with the rank of lieutenant colonel. Michelle Fischbach
Michelle Louise Helene Fischbach (; born November 3, 1965) is an American attorney and politician who is the U.S. representative from Minnesota's 7th congressional district. The district, which is very rural, is Minnesota's largest congressional district and includes most of the western area of the state. A Republican, Fischbach served as the 49th lieutenant governor of Minnesota under Governor Mark Dayton. Fischbach was a member of the Minnesota Senate from 1996 to 2018. During her tenure, she was the President of the Minnesota Senate from 2011 to 2013 and from 2017 to 2018. When Dayton appointed Tina Smith to the U.S. Senate after Al Franken’s resignation, Fischbach became the lieutenant governor of Minnesota under the Minnesota Constitution. She served as lieutenant governor from 2018 to 2019. John Sterling Howe (born August 26, 1963) is a Minnesota politician and former Republican member of the Minnesota Senate who represented District 28, which included portions of Goodhue, Wabasha, and Winona counties in southeastern Minnesota. Early life, education, and career Howe attended St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, earning his B.A. in Criminal Justice. He has worked as a laborer, corrections officer and Sears store owner. Howe was a member of the Goodhue County Social Services Board, and was mayor of Red Wing from 2008 until becoming a senator in 2011. He also served on the Minnesota Clean Water Council, appointed by Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty. He is also the owner of Howe Properties, LLC, based in Red Wing. A special election was held in the U.S. state of Minnesota on November 6, 2018, to elect a new senator for District 13 in the Minnesota Senate, caused by the resignation of Republican Party of Minnesota, Republican Senator Michelle Fischbach effective on May 25, 2018. The 2012 Minnesota House of Representatives election was held in the U.S. state of Minnesota on November 6, 2012, to elect members to the House of Representatives of the 88th Minnesota Legislature. A primary election was held in several districts on August 14, 2012. The Constitution of the United States specifically charges the National Guard with dual federal and state missions.
