Larga, Briceni
Larga is a commune in Briceni District, Moldova. It is composed of two villages, Larga and Pavlovca. History On 14 January 2023, during Russian strikes against Ukraine, Moldovan border police found missile debris in Larga. Moldovan airspace was violated as a result. This is the third such event in Moldova ever since the start of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the first being in Naslavcea on 31 October 2022 and the second being in Briceni on 5 December of the same year. Briceni District
Briceni () is a district ( ro, raion) in the north-west of Moldova, with the administrative center at Briceni. The other major city is Lipcani. As of January 1, 2011, its population was 75,300. History The first documentary attestation dates back to district towns June 17, 1429. Such localities: Lipcani, Larga, Mihăileni, Șirăuți are mentioned first in the period 1429–1433. In July 1429, reign of Moldova Alexander the Good Dan Uncleata had established him several villages in the region of the district today. Eastern European Summer Time (EEST) is one of the names of the UTC+03:00 time zone, which is 3 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time. 2022–2023 Russian Strikes Against Ukrainian Infrastructure
During the autumn and winter of 2022–2023, Russia launched waves of missile and drone strikes against energy infrastructure as part of its invasion of Ukraine. The strikes targeted civilian areas beyond the battlefield, particularly critical power infrastructure, which is considered a war crime. Naslavcea
Naslavcea is a village in Ocnița District and the northernmost point in Moldova. The village, situated along the Dniester river that separates Moldova and Ukraine, has an ethnic Ukrainian majority. 2022 Russian missile incident On 31 October 2022, during the nationwide missile attacks in Ukraine, occurring during the Russian invasion, Russia launched a missile attack on a hydroelectric power plant, situated 10 kilometers north from the village, in Ukrainian territory.
