Langenhagen ( Eastphalian: ''Langenhogen'') is a town in the Hanover district of Lower Saxony, Germany. History From 1866 to 1868 Robert Koch worked in Langenhagen. On June 18, 1972, Red Army Faction terrorist Ulrike Meinhof was arrested in Langenhagen. On August 17, 1982, the world's first mass production of Compact Discs began in Langenhagen. Engelbostel
Engelbostel is a district of the city of Langenhagen in the Hanover (region), Hanover region. It was independent until 1974 when the village was incorporated into Langenhagen. The town is located southwest of the Hannover-Langenhagen airport. To the east is Schulenburg (Langenhagen), Schulenburg, and to the west are the town of Garbsen and the villages of Berenbostel and Stelingen. History In 2008 Engelbostel celebrated its 975-year anniversary, but the site was probably established around the year 900. The archaeologist Helmut Plath considers that St. Gallenhof (Hannover), St. Gallenhof, the nucleus of the town, was present by 1100 CE. It was assigned to the parish of Saint Mary's of Hanover. In 1196 the church building was given by the Grafen von Roden to the monastery of Marienwerder. The 15th century church was built on the foundations of its predecessors, and the steeple remains. Hannover Airport is the international airport of Hanover, capital of the German state of Lower Saxony. The ninth largest airport in Germany, it is in Langenhagen, north of the centre of Hanover. Brenneke
Brenneke GmbH is a German manufacturer of ammunition and bullets, based in Langenhagen, Lower Saxony. The company was founded by Wilhelm Brenneke in 1895 and is currently owned and run by his great-grandson, Dr. Peter Mank. Brenneke makes shotgun shells for target shooting and hunting, special slugs for law enforcement, and hunting rounds as well as projectiles for handloading. Its best-known products are the Brenneke slug for shotguns and a line of rifle bullets. Langenhagen standard In 1990 under the sponsorship of Brenneke, the Langenhagen standard (german: Langenhagener Norm) was created. Hanover (district)
Hanover Region (german: Region Hannover) is a district in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is bounded by (from the north and clockwise) the districts of Heidekreis, Celle, Gifhorn, Peine, Hildesheim, Hamelin-Pyrmont, Schaumburg and Nienburg. The Hanover Region district has a unique legal status among the districts of Lower Saxony. Novo Mesto
Novo Mesto (; sl, Novo mesto; also known by other alternative names) is a city on a bend of the Krka River in the City Municipality of Novo Mesto in southeastern Slovenia, close to the border with Croatia. Ulrike Meinhof
Ulrike Marie Meinhof (7 October 1934 – 9 May 1976) was a German left-wing journalist and founding member of the Red Army Faction (RAF) in West Germany, commonly referred to in the press as the "Baader-Meinhof gang". She is the reputed author of ''The Urban Guerilla Concept'' (1971). The manifesto acknowledges the RAF's "roots in the history of the student movement"; condemns "reformism" as "a brake on the anti-capitalist struggle"; and invokes Mao Zedong to define "armed struggle" as "the highest form of Marxism-Leninism". Meinhof, who took part in the RAF's May Offensive in 1972, was arrested in June of that year and spent the rest of her life in custody, largely isolated from outside contact. Głogów
Głogów (; german: Glogau, links=no, rarely , cs, Hlohov, szl, Głogōw) is a city in western Poland. It is the county seat of Głogów County, in Lower Silesian Voivodeship (since 1999), and was previously in Legnica Voivodeship (1975–1998).
