Lane Burroughs
Lane Burroughs is an American college baseball coach, currently serving as head coach of the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs baseball program. He was previously the head coach at Northwestern State, named to that position prior to the 2013 season. Burroughs played for two seasons at Meridian Community College while earning an associate degree, then completed his eligibility and bachelor's at Mississippi College. While completing a master's degree at Mississippi College, he served as a graduate assistant coach with the Choctaws, then served for one season at East Mississippi Community College and one season at Northwestern State as an assistant coach. Burroughs then worked for eight years at Southern Miss, where he helped lead the Golden Eagles to six NCAA Regional appearances. He served in a variety of roles: third base coach, hitting coach, infielders coach, and recruiting coordinator. 2020 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Baseball Team
The 2020 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs baseball team represent Louisiana Tech University in the 2020 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Bulldogs play their home games at Ruston High's Baseball Stadium and are led by fourth year head coach Lane Burroughs. On March 12, the Conference USA released an announcement proclaiming the suspension of all spring athletics until "further notice". This came during the COVID-19 pandemic. Previous season The Bulldogs finished 34–24 overall, and 17–13 in the conference. The Bulldogs lost their only two games in the C-USA Postseason tournament and were not invited to any other tournament, thus ending their season. 2019 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Baseball Team
The 2019 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs baseball team represented Louisiana Tech University in the 2019 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Bulldogs played the majority of their home games at J. C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park. One weekend series was played at the baseball field at Ruston High School due to the deadly tornados that struck Ruston in April. In early May, it was declared that the university was looking into building a new stadium for the baseball team and that they would likely never use J. C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park again.
