Landesliga Bayern-Süd
The Landesliga Bayern-Süd ( en, State League Bavaria-South) was the sixth tier of the German football league system in southern Bavaria. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga (Third League) in 2008, it was the fifth tier of the league system, until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the fourth tier. The winner of the Landesliga Süd was automatically qualified for the Bayernliga, while the runners-up needed to compete with the runners-up of Landesliga Bayern-Mitte and Landesliga Bayern-Nord and the 15th-placed team of the Bayernliga for another promotion spot. The league was disbanded in 2012, when the Regionalliga Bayern was introduced as the new fourth tier of the German league system in Bavaria. Below this league, the Bayernliga was expanded to two divisions while the number of state leagues grew from three to five divisions. Bayernliga
The Bayernliga (English: Bavarian league) is the highest amateur football league and the second highest football league (under the Regionalliga Bayern) in the state of Bavaria (german: Bayern) and the Bavarian football league system. It is one of fourteen Oberligas in German football, the fifth tier of the German football league system. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the fourth tier of the league system, until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the third tier. From the 2012–13 season onwards, the league has been divided once more into a northern and a southern division, having previously placed in single division format since 1963. TSV Schwaben Augsburg
TSV Schwaben Augsburg is a German football club which is part of a larger sports association whose origins go back to the 1847 formation of the gymnastics club Turnverein Augsburg. The association's football department was formed in 1907 and after 29 March 1919 played as Schwaben Augsburg. __TOC__ History Local bylaws required the formation of a fire brigade and in 1848 the members of TV also formed the Augsburger Freiwillige Feuerwehr. In 1853, TV was banned for political reasons by authorities fearful of democratic leanings, but managed to carry on as a physical fitness group until being re-established in 1860. FC Bayern Munich II
FC Bayern Munich II (''FC Bayern Munich Amateure'' until 2005) are the reserve team of German association football club FC Bayern Munich, they currently play in the Regionalliga Bayern. In 2010–11 they played in the 3. Liga, having qualified for its inaugural season in 2008, and have consistently played at the third level of German football (the highest permissible level for reserve teams) – they played in the Regionalliga Süd from its formation in 1994 to 2008, when it was usurped by the 3. Liga. They have generally achieved at least mid-table finishes at this level, and won the Regionalliga Süd title in 2004. In 2010–11 Bayern II finished last in the 3. FC Kempten
FC Kempten is German association football club based in Kempten, Bavaria. History The team was established in 1903 as the football department of gymnastics club ''Männerturnvereins Kempten''. In 1907 the parent association merged with two other local gymnastics clubs to form ''Turnverein 1856 Kempten'' and on 21 September 1908 the footballers went their own way as an independent side known as ''Fußball Club Kempten''. The footballers briefly re-joined ''TV'' in 1923, but resumed their independence two years later. Following World War II ''FC Kempten'' played in the Amateurliga Bayern-Süd (III) between 1957 and 1963 where they earned mid-table results. TSV Kottern
TSV Kottern is a German association football club from Kottern in Kempten, Bavaria. __TOC__ History The team was established on 15 September 1925 as Freier Fußballclub Kottern as a worker's sports club. The club was broken up as politically undesirable under the Nazi regime and the membership became part of Turn- und Sportverein Kottern, founded in 1874, as that association's football department. The side played in the senior local level A-Klasse competition throughout the 30s and on into the mid-40s. Following World War II Kottern played in the Kreisliga Schwaben-Süd where they won a title in 1947 but could not accept promotion due to the bad transport situation in the post war days, making travelling to away games very difficult. SpVgg Kaufbeuren is a German association football club from the town of Kaufbeuren, Bavaria. The roots of the association are in the establishment on 8 August 1858 of the gymnastics club and community fire brigade Turnfeuerwehr Kaufbeuren. __TOC__ History They later became simply a gymnastics club known as Turnverein Kaufbeuren and in 1909 a football department was established. This department became independent as Spielvereinigung Kaufbeuren in 1920. The footballers have played quietly as a local side for most of their existence. TSV Rain Am Lech
The TSV Rain am Lech is a German association football club from the town of Rain am Lech, Bavaria. The club's most notable achievement has been qualifying for the tier four Regionalliga Bayern in 2012, where it played for two seasons before relegation in 2014. It returned to this league for a single season after a Bayernliga title in 2015. The Männer-Turn-Verein von 1881 Ingolstadt or ''Men's Gymnastics Club of 1881 Ingolstadt'' is a general sports club in Ingolstadt, Bavaria. It was founded on 18 July 1881. Until 2004, the club operated a football department but after a merger with local rival ESV Ingolstadt to form FC Ingolstadt 04 the footballers left for the new club. After a break of a number of years, MTV has returned to competitive football, restarting at the lowest possible level, the C-Klasse, in 2009. The Oberliga Baden-Württemberg is the highest association football league in the state of Baden-Württemberg and the Baden-Württemberg football league system. It is one of fourteen Oberligas in German football, the fifth tier of the German football league system. Until the introduction of the 3. SpVgg Au/Iller is a German football club from the district of Au in the northwest quarter of Illertissen, Bavaria. FV Illertissen
FV Illertissen is a German association football club from the town of Illertissen, Bavaria and was established in 1921. Despite its location in Bavaria the club had never played in the league system of its home state but instead preferred to play in neighbouring Baden-Württemberg. SpVgg Lindau
The SpVgg Lindau is a German football club from Lindau, Bavaria. Overview The club was formed on 1 August 1919 as the football department of the ''TSV 1850 Lindau'' under the leadership of Sosthenes Sailer and its first chairman Goldbrunner. The new club was put into the ''A-Klasse Gau Oberschwaben'', where it remained in the coming years. Despite being a Bavarian club, the team always competed in neighbouring Württemberg, which it is geographically much closer to than to clubs in the Bavarian region of Schwaben where it politically belongs to.
