SpVgg Lindau
The SpVgg Lindau is a German football club from Lindau, Bavaria. Overview The club was formed on 1 August 1919 as the football department of the ''TSV 1850 Lindau'' under the leadership of Sosthenes Sailer and its first chairman Goldbrunner. The new club was put into the ''A-Klasse Gau Oberschwaben'', where it remained in the coming years. Despite being a Bavarian club, the team always competed in neighbouring Württemberg, which it is geographically much closer to than to clubs in the Bavarian region of Schwaben where it politically belongs to. In 1924, a new law in Germany stipulated that football clubs had to be clearly separated from other sports clubs and the team was renamed ''VfL Lindau'', now under the leadership of Jakob Egg. In 1928, the club achieved its first success with the championship in the A-Klasse and promotion to the Bezirksliga. In 1934, a new football stadium was opened in town, the ''Städtische Stadion''. Württemberg Cup
The Bitburger-wfv-Pokal is one of the 21 regional cup competitions of German football. The winner of the competition gains entry to the first round of the German Cup. It was introduced in 1945. In 2011 the cup was renamed from WFV-Pokal into Bitburger-wfv-Pokal because of a new name sponsoring by the brewery Bitburger. WFV stands for Württembergischer Fußball-Verband (football association of the region Württemberg). Oakland Stompers
The Oakland Stompers were a soccer team based out of Oakland, California that played the 1978 season in the North American Soccer League (NASL). The Stompers played in the Western Division of the American Conference and finished the year with a 12–18 record, in third place and out of playoff contention. Team history At the end of the 1977 NASL season, Silicon Valley businessman (and former owner of the San Jose Earthquakes) Milan Mandarić bought the Connecticut Bicentennials and relocated them to Oakland. The club, renamed the Stompers, hired Mirko Stojanović as head coach and signed a 10-year lease at the Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum, previously home of the NASL's Oakland Clippers in 1967–68. The team signed Shep Messing for $100,000 making him the highest-paid American soccer player at the time. Karl-Heinz Mrosko (11 October 1946 – 18 March 2019) was a German footballer who played as a midfielder for Stuttgarter Kickers, Bayern Munich, 1. FC Nürnberg, Hannover 96, 1860 Munich and Arminia Hannover. He also had a brief spell in the North American Soccer League with Oakland Stompers. Itzehoer SV
Itzehoer SV was a German association football club from the town of Itzehoe, Schleswig-Holstein. The club's greatest success was promotion to the tier-one Oberliga Nord, where it spent a single season in 1950–51. It also played in the then-second division Regionalliga Nord from 1965 to 1974. Itzehoe also made five appearances in the first round of the German Cup, the DFB-Pokal, advancing to the second round just once, in 1977–78.
