Landau Forte Academy, Amington
Landau Forte Academy Amington (previously Landau Forte Academy Tamworth), is a high school situated in Amington, a suburb of Tamworth, Staffordshire. The school has around 100 teaching staff and over 900 pupils. History Formerly a state school known as Woodhouse High School, it was opened in 1971 (by then Secretary of State for Education Margaret Thatcher) as Tamworth's first purpose-built mixed comprehensive high school. The school was one of the first in Staffordshire to gain the prestigious Staffordshire Partnership Award for outstanding school industry links. After being placed in special measures by OFSTED in 2007, the school continued to improve its GCSE results for three years and currently around 80% of pupils achieve the government's target of 5 A*-C grades at GCSE. Academy (English School)
An academy school in England is a state-funded school which is directly funded by the Department for Education and independent of local authority control. Ryan Stirk
Ryan William Stirk (born 25 September 2000) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Walsall. Stirk began his career with Birmingham City, for whom he made his EFL debut in 2021. He spent the 2021–22 season on loan to Mansfield Town of League Two and the second half of the following season on loan to National League club Bromley. South Staffordshire College is a further education college located over four sites in Staffordshire, England. The college was created in 2009 as a result of a merger of Cannock Chase Technical College, Rodbaston College and Tamworth and Lichfield College. It now operates over five sites in Lichfield, Rodbaston (Penkridge), Cannock and 2 campuses in Tamworth. The Wilnecote School (formerly Wilnecote High School) is a co-educational secondary school located in Wilnecote (near Tamworth) in the English county of Staffordshire. Tamworth Enterprise College (formerly Belgrave High School) is a coeducational secondary school with academy status in Tamworth, Staffordshire, England, which pupils attend from the ages of 11 to 16 years old. The school was founded with just one building called "The same year Block" in 1978, and in 1981 added the "E Block" for its additional pupils. Building Schools for the Future (BSF) was the name given to the British government's investment programme in secondary school buildings in England in the 2000s. The programme was ambitious in its costs, timescales and objectives, with politicians from all English political parties supportive of the principle but questioning the wisdom and cost effectiveness of the scheme.
