Lamiako (Metro Bilbao)
Lamiako is a station on line 1 of the Bilbao metro. It is located in the neighborhood of Lamiako, in the municipality of Leioa. The station opened as part of the metro on 11 November 1995, replacing an older station. History The station, then known as ''Lamiaco'', first opened to the public in 1887 as part of the Bilbao-Las Arenas railway. Starting in 1947, the narrow-gauge railway companies that operated within the Bilbao metropolitan area were merged to become ''Ferrocarriles y Transportes Suburbanos'', shortened FTS and the first precedent of today's Bilbao metro. In 1977, the FTS network was transferred to the public company FEVE and in 1982 to the recently created Basque Railways. In the 1980s it was decided the station, just like most of the former railway line, would be integrated into line 1 of the metro. Leioa
Leioa ( es, Lejona) is a municipality in Biscay, Basque Country, in northern Spain. It is located south of Getxo and Berango delimitating east and south with Erandio, Portugalete and Sestao. Today it is part of the Bilbao conurbation. Its population in 2019 was 31,795. Leioa has an area of . The Udondo river constitutes the eastern limit of the municipality. History Leioa has its origins in 1526, before which it was part of the "anteiglesia de Erandio". BizkaiBus is the name for bus services serving the province of Biscay, Spain. It is named after the Basque name of the province, ''Bizkaia''. The buses can be identified by their distinctive green (until 2009 yellow) livery. The bus network is integrated in the Barik card system. Plentzia is the northern terminus of line 1 of the Bilbao metro. It is located in the municipality of Plentzia. Etxebarri (Bilbao Metro)
Etxebarri is a station on lines 1 and 2 of the Bilbao metro. It is the southern terminus of line 1. The station is located in the municipality of Etxebarri, part of the Bilbao metropolitan area. It was opened in 2005. The station is on Fuenlabrada street, next to a park and ride parking facility. The Euskotren Trena commuter railway network has a station with the same name at a distance of about , but the two stations are not connected.
