Lambis Serafidis
Lambis Serafidis ( el, Λάμπης Σεραφείδης; 1929 – 20 August 2003) was a Greek professional footballer who played as a forward and a manager. Club career Serafidis played mainly as a left winger and started his football career at a club of his neighborhood, AE Ierapolis. At the age of 17, he moved to AEK Athens, where he played for three season, however he did not manage to participate in an official match. In 1949 he moved to the neighboring Apollon Athens playing for two years. In 1951 he returned to AEK, where he remained for another three seasons until 1954, having 9 appearances and 6 goals in the Athens championship. In 1954 Serafidis rejoined Apollon Athens until 1963, when he retired from the as a footballer. International career He played in twelve matches for the Greece national football team from 1950 to 1960. Aigaleo or Egaleo ( el, Αιγάλεω ) is a suburban municipality in the western part of Athens, belonging to the West Athens regional administrative unit. It takes its name from Mount Aigaleo. The World Military Cup is a football competition for national military teams. It is organized by the International Military Sports Council (CISM). The tournament has been held since 1946 and was originally called the World Military Championship. The name changed for the 2001 edition. Stelios Serafidis ( el, Στέλιος Σεραφείδης; 6 August 1935 – 4 January 2022) was a Greek international football player who played as a goalkeeper for AEK Athens. Serafidis was among the most reliable and consistent goalkeepers in the history of the club. Gifted with agility and excellent reflexes, he was famous for his high diving saves under tough conditions. Despite his small stature, he managed to become one of the top players in the 1950's and 1960's and he is considered as one of the top Greek goalkeepers of all time.
