Lalor Football Club is an Australian rules football club located 18 km north of Melbourne in the suburb of Lalor, Victoria which has a population of 19,561 c. 2006. The club fields a Senior and a Reserves team and for the 2019 Season fielded a combined U 19's team with North Heidelberg known as Bulldog Bloods and affiliated with the Northern Football Netball League. Northern Football Netball League
The Northern Football Netball League (formerly known as the Diamond Valley Football League and later Northern Football League) is an Australian sports league based in the Diamond Valley region of suburban Melbourne, Victoria. The league regulates competitions of both sports, Australian rules football and netball in the region. History The league was founded in 1922, originally having six clubs, three of whom still participate. In 1941 the league went into recess for five years as a result of World War II, the competition recommencing in 1946. After the war the league continued to grow. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Lalor, Victoria
Lalor () is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, north of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Whittlesea local government area. Lalor recorded a population of 23,219 at the 2021 census. Lalor was named in honour of Peter Lalor, a leader of the Eureka Stockade rebellion and later a member of the Victorian parliament. Panton Hill is a town in Victoria, Australia, 32 km north-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shire of Nillumbik local government area. Panton Hill recorded a population of 1,063 at the 2021 census. History Originally called Kingstown, the area experienced population growth in the mid-1850s during the Victorian gold rush when prospectors mined the hills around the town known as the Caledonia Goldfields. It was named after Joseph Anderson Panton, who was the magistrate at Heidelberg and spent much of his spare time mapping the Yarra Valley. Panton Hill Post Office opened on 1 October 1875. Athas Hrysoulakis
Athas Hrysoulakis (born 5 January 1969) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Collingwood in the Victorian/Australian Football League (VFL/AFL). Hrysoulakis, a Lalor recruit, played his first league season in 1987, when he put together nine games. He did not play senior VFL football in 1988 but the following year played the best football of his career late in the season. Playing as a forward, Hrysoulakis kicked five goals against the Sydney Swans at Victoria Park in round 18 and after some more good games kept his spot in the side for the elimination final. Collingwood lost the final to Melbourne, but Hrysoulakis was solid with 22 disposals and a goal. Having been able to play only two more games in 1990, a premiership year for Collingwood, Hrysoulakis joined Victorian Football Association club Prahran.
