Lalenok United Football Club, commonly known as Lalenok United, is an East Timorese football club based in Dili. The team plays in the Liga Futebol Amadora Primeira Divisão, after finishing runners up and being promoted from the Segunda Divisão in 2018. In 2019 the team won the Primeira Divisão title, finishing the season with a total of 30 points from 14 matches, 5 points clear of previous champion Boavista. In the same season the team also won the Taça 12 de Novembro and the LFA Super Taça, becoming the first Timorese team to ever win all three competitions. In 2020 Lalenok became the first ever East Timorese football club to ever compete in the AFC Cup, playing against Indonesian Liga 1 side PSM Makassar in their opening match in the ASEAN Play-off round. 2021 AFC Cup
The 2021 AFC Cup was the 18th edition of the AFC Cup, Asia's secondary club football tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The winners of the tournament automatically qualified for the 2022 AFC Champions League, entering the qualifying play-offs, if they had not qualified through their domestic performance. The 2020 AFC Cup qualifying play-offs were played from 21 January to 26 February 2020, before the remaining matches were suspended, and eventually cancelled by the AFC on 10 September 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Under the original competition format, a total of 19 teams would compete in the qualifying play-offs to decide seven of the 36 places in the group stage of the 2020 AFC Cup. AFC Cup
The AFC Cup is an annual continental club football competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Under its current rules, the competition is played primarily between clubs from nations that did not receive direct qualifying slots in the top-tier AFC Champions League, based on the AFC Club Competitions Ranking. Al-Kuwait SC and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya are the most successful clubs in the competition's history, having won three titles each. Copa FFTL 2020
The 2020 Copa FFTL was an association football competition in men's domestic Timor football. The tournament was organised by the East Timor Football Federation and was held during 2020 in response to the Liga Futebol Amadora league system being cancelled due to COVID-19. The tournament was contested by the 20 clubs from the Primeira Divisão and Segunda Divisão. The competition featured a multistage format, with the participating teams initially being divided into four groups of five teams, each team playing each other once. After the group stage the four group winners and the four group runners-up progressed to the quarterfinals of a knockout finals series to determine the winner. Liga Futebol Amadora
Liga Futebol Timor-Leste (LFTL) is a league competition featuring football clubs from Timor Leste. It replaced Super Liga Timorense in 2015. The competition initially consisted of two main divisions, the Primeira Divisão and Segunda Divisão, however was expanded to include a third division in 2019. As of 2020 the winner of the previous Premeria Divisão season represents Timor Leste in the AFC Cup. In 2020 the name of the competition was renamed from the Liga Futebol Amadora to the Liga Futebol Timor-Leste. The league did not run however due to the COVID pandemic, with the teams set to compete in the Pimeira and Segunda Divisão instead competing in the Copa FFTL.
