Lajos Aulich
Lajos Aulich (25 August 1793 – 6 October 1849) was the third Minister of War of Hungary. A professional soldier and lieutenant colonel in the Austrian Army, he fought against Habsburg oppression. At them time of the War of Hungarian Independence (1848–1849) during the Spring Campaign, Aulich commanded an army, who gathered, and prepared for the great Battle of Isaszeg. He became a honvédség (Hungarian Army) colonel on 2 October 1848, and was named General at the Battle of Kápolna. He was a stickler for the rules: when Lajos Kossuth sent him requests, he answered: "please work through Görgey." Due to his gout, he was relieved of field duty and appointed Minister of War on 14 July 1849. The Thirteen Martyrs of Arad ( hu, aradi vértanúk) were the thirteen Hungarian rebel generals who were executed by the Austrian Empire on 6 October 1849 in the city of Arad, then part of the Kingdom of Hungary (now in Romania), after the Hungarian Revolution (1848–1849). The execution was ordered by the Austrian general Julius Jacob von Haynau. Julius Jacob Von Haynau
Julius Jakob Freiherr von Haynau (14 October 1786 – 14 March 1853) was an Austrian general who suppressed insurrectionary movements in Italy and Hungary in 1848 and later. While a hugely effective military leader, he also gained renown as an aggressive and ruthless commander. His soldiers called him the "Habsburg Tiger"; those opponents who suffered from his brutality called him the " Hyena of Brescia" and the " Hangman of Arad". Early life and education Born in Kassel, Julius Jacob von Haynau was the illegitimate son of Rosa Dorothea Ritter, and William I (1743-1821), the landgrave (later elector) of Hesse-Kassel. The Great Lexicon of Révai (Hungarian "Révai nagy lexikona") is a general lexicon in Hungarian, published by the Révai Brothers Literary Institute between 1911 and 1935. The continuation of the late 20th century is the new lexicon of Révai. History Révay Mór János starting from the large lexicon of Pallas, he wanted to create a modern lexicon containing up-to-date scientific results, therefore he involved almost the entire Hungarian scientific world in the editing. The editorial staff had a total of 877 staff members – it would be unworthy to highlight anyone – 149 former university professors, 50 academic members, 20 physicists and mathematicians, 27 ministers or secretaries of state, 69 lawyers and 33 doctors. The twenty volumes without completion contain about 1,050 pages (16,671 two-column pages), 230,000 headings, about 113 million letters, and thousands of figures.
