Lages
Lages is a Brazilian municipality located in the central part of the state of Santa Catarina, in the region known in Portuguese as "Planalto Serrano". It is located in the mountain region of the state and is the largest municipality of it. It is the main city of this region, and borders the towns of Otacílio Costa, São Joaquim, and Correia Pinto. The main course of urban water is Carahá River. Lages hosts an annual festival called '' Festa do Pinhão'', that is famous throughout the country. Economically, the city is known for its strong cattle breeding and wood processing factories. History In the beginning of the 17th century, the arrival of the first Europeans established the town. Seia
Seia () is a municipality in Guarda District in Portugal. The population in 2021 was 21,755, in an area of . Its urban population is about 7,000. Seia was elevated to city status on July 3, 1986. The municipality is situated on the northwestern slope of Serra da Estrela, the highest mountain range in mainland Portugal, with a top height of 1993 meters. Lajes Das Flores
Lajes das Flores () is a municipality in the western part of the Azores; it includes the southern part of the island of Flores. To the north, where it is bordered by Santa Cruz das Flores. The population in 2021 was 1,408, in an area of . Its municipal seat is in the parish of the same name. History Flores was discovered by Diogo de Teive and his son, João de Teive, in 1452. Within a year, 20 January 1453, the islands of ''Corvo Marini'' (''Marine Crows''), meaning the islands of Flores and Corvo, was donated to D. The island and Corvo was discovered in 1452 (by Diogo de Teive and João de Teive, his son), donated on 20 January 1453 to D. Afonso of Bragança, its captaincy was eventually ceded by João Teive to Fernão Teles de Mensese on 20 January 1475. On 1 March 1504, the captaincy was donated to João da Fonesca by D. Manuel I. Lajes do Pico () is a town and municipality in the central Azores. It is one of three municipalities of the island of Pico. It has 4,342 inhabitants as of 2021, in an area of 155.31 km2. It is bordered by Madalena to the west and by São Roque do Pico to the north.
