Finnish national road 29 ( fi, Valtatie 29; sv, Riksväg 29) is a highway in Finland between Keminmaa and Tornio. The road is part of the European route E8, except for the one kilometer section between the national boundary and the intersection with the highway 21, where the road is part of the European route E4. Overview The highway is long. The eastern 14 kilometer section of the road is part of a motorway called ''Perämerentie'' (which in English translates roughly to "''The road of Bothnian bay''"), and is the northernmost motorway/freeway in the world with Alaska Highway 3 in Fairbanks, Alaska being the second northernmost. Although there are some grade separated roads built closely to motorway standards even further north, such as the Rovaniemi bypass in Finnish highway 4, they aren't signed as motorways. The Finnish national road 22 ( fi, Valtatie 22; sv, Riksväg 22; also known as ''Kainuuntie'', "Kainuu Road") is the main route between the major cities of Oulu and Kajaani in northern Finland. The road is long, and it is part of the national transport route network that connects two regions, North Ostrobothnia and Kainuu. At the Oulu end, the road connects to Highway 4 ( E8/ E75), while at the Kajaani end, it connects to Highway 5 ( E63). Finnish national road 8 ( fi, valtatie 8, sv, riksväg 8) runs along the western coast of Finland. The road starts at Turku, continues to Vaasa and ends in the intersection with Finnish national road 4 in Liminka, 25 km south of Oulu. It constitutes much of the length of European route E8. Cities along the road are Rauma, Pori, Kristinestad, Närpes, Vaasa, Nykarleby, Kokkola and Raahe.
