Lachlan Goold
Magoo is the professional name of Lachlan Goold, a multi award-winning Australian music producer based in Brisbane, Queensland. After working briefly in mechanical engineering, Magoo began in music as a live sound engineer, touring nationally before producing seasoned local Brisbane bands the Dreamkillers and Pangaea in the early 1990s. By the mid-1990s Magoo had recorded music by Powderfinger, as well as two EPs by Regurgitator. He rose to prominence with his production work on Regurgitator's debut album '' Tu-Plang'', which also earned him his first ARIA award nominations in 1996. In the late 1990s, Magoo was engaged to produce or engineer for a number of high-profile acts such as Midnight Oil and Skunkhour. Happyland (band)
Happyland were an Australian punk rock duo formed in Brisbane, Queensland in 1997 as a side project by Janet English on bass guitar and lead vocals (from Spiderbait) and her then-boyfriend, Quan Yeomans on lead guitar and vocals (from Regurgitator). They were originally named, The Shits, but decided on Happyland. Their only album, ''Welcome to Happyland'', was released on 25 August 1998, via the Polydor Australia label, which reached No. 18 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Butterfingers (Australian Band)
Butterfingers are an Australian hip hop group from Brisbane, Queensland. Most of their releases are on their own label, Valley Trash Records. They are currently signed to New World Artists. History The group was formed when lead vocalist 'Evil' Eddie Mark Jacobson booked himself in for a gig at The Zoo, a bar in Brisbane, without a band or any intentions of performing solo. The venue held Jacobson's booking to him, and a backing band was assembled featuring DJ/percussionist Olly Thomas, bassist Dave Crane, and drummer Damien Green. Their first two singles "Everytime" and "I Love Work", reached No. 38 and No. 15 respectively in the Triple J Hottest 100 of 2003. Daniel O Kelly (born Daniel Kelly; 1974), known as Dan Kelly, is an Australian singer-songwriter and guitarist. He has released music as part of Dan Kelly and the Alpha Males. Biography 1974–1999: Early Years Dan Kelly grew up in Queensland, on the Gold Coast, attended a Catholic school, in Beenleigh, and was the second oldest of six children. Gerling were an Australian electronica, alternative rock trio formed in 1993. From early 1997 the members were Darren Cross on guitar and lead vocals, Presser (real name Paul Towner) on drums and Burke Reid on guitar and vocals. Spiderbait is an Australian alternative rock band from Finley, New South Wales, formed in 1991 by bass guitarist and singer Janet English, drummer and singer Kram (musician), Kram, and guitarist Damian Whitty. Broken Head (also styled as Brokenhead) is a dub band from Brisbane, Queensland, which was formed after a six-hour jam session in 1996 by Regurgitator's Ben Ely on bass guitar, Skritch from Gota Cola on drums and Guy Webster on guitar. The group issued their debut album, ''Locarno'', on 1 September 2000 via Valve Records/East West as a single CD and also as an extended edition including a bonus disc, ''Remember to Breathe'', of live material. The Boat People were an Australian four-piece indie pop band. The Brisbane based group consists of James O'Brien, Robin Waters, Charles Dugan and Tony Garrett. History The Boat People began performing in the Brisbane music scene in early 2000, releasing their debut self-titled E.P. in October of that year. In 2002, the band's released their second E.P. titled ''Squeaky Clean E.P.''.
