Gerling
Gerling were an Australian electronica, alternative rock trio formed in 1993. From early 1997 the members were Darren Cross on guitar and lead vocals, Presser (real name Paul Towner) on drums and Burke Reid on guitar and vocals. Their second album, ''When Young Terrorists Chase the Sun'' (September 2001), reached the ARIA Albums Chart top50. It provided a top50 single, "Dust Me Selecta" (August 2001). The group disbanded in 2007. History Gerling were formed as a guitar pop trio in 1993 in western Sydney with the line-up of Darren Cross (aka Darren E. Spielberg-Cross) on guitar and lead vocals, Presser (real name Paul Towner) on drums and Brad Herdson on guitar and vocals. Darren Cross (musician)
Darren James Cross, previously known as Darren E. Spielberg-Cross, is an Australian songwriter, musician, record producer and video maker. Cross is the founding mainstay lead vocalist and guitarist of alternative rock group Gerling (1992–2007). He started the E.L.F. project in 2007, which issued an album, ''Plankton Icke and Tina Turner David City Limits'' (2010). His folk noir duo Jep and Dep were formed in 2012 with his domestic partner, Jessica Cassar on co-lead vocals, which have issued two albums. Under his own name he has release four studio albums, ''_Xantastic'' (2016), ''Peacer'' (2018), ''Keeping Up?'' (2020) and ''Distorder'' (2021). Burke Reid
Burke Reid is an Australian–Canadian record producer/musician. Career After migrating from Canada to Australia in 1994 at the age of 14 years, Reid became one third of the band Gerling in 1997. Following the announcement of a hiatus by Gerling in 2007, Reid continued in the music industry as a record producer. The first album that Reid produced was The Mess Hall's ''Devils Elbow'' which won the Australian Music Prize (AMP) in 2007. '' When Young Terrorists Chase the Sun ''is the second studio album by Gerling, released in September 2001. Originally due to be released on 16 September was delayed due to the September 11 attacks and renamed in the UK and Japan under the title Headzcleaner. The album peaked at number 41 in Australia. Cross later said, "with WYTCTS we didn't really care about how we were going to do it live, it was more this album of all these different songs that fit into each other and I think that was a really ambitious record, we don't regret anything about it." At the ARIA Music Awards of 2002, Gerling and Magoo were nominated for Producer of the Year for their work on this album. Benjamin Michael Lee (born 11 September 1978) is an Australian musician and actor. Lee began his career as a musician at the age of 14 with the Sydney band Noise Addict, but he focused on his solo career when the band broke up in 1995. He appeared as the protagonist in the Australian film ''The Rage in Placid Lake'' (2003). He has released eleven solo studio albums. The 13th Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards (generally known as the ARIA Music Awards or simply The ARIAS) was held on 12 October 1999 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. Hosted by Paul McDermott and Bob Downe, and presenters, including Melanie C of the Spice Girls, Tina Cousins, Fiona Horne and Molly Meldrum, distributed 33 awards. The big winner for the year was Powderfinger with four awards. Trifekta
Trifekta is the name of a now defunct Australia based independent record label, based in Fitzroy, Victoria. It was started in 1997 by Tom Larnach-Jones (Shock Records), Tim Everest and Paul 'Presser' Towner (Gerling). The first release for the label was debut release for The Avalanches, a limited edition 7" single entitled "Rock City". This was followed by another limited edition 7" single, this time Gerling's "Bachelor Pad" single. Towner returned to Sydney and not long after this, Everest left the label in the hands of Larnach-Jones, so that he could focus on his fashion label ''Schwipe''. __NOTOC__ Spdfgh ( were an Australian rock band from the 1990s. The founding members were: Kim Bowers (as Wikky Malone) (guitar, vocals), Liz Payne (as Rosy Glo, Lou Marvel, Belle) (guitar, vocals), Via Tania, Tania Bowers (as Tania May) (bass guitar, vocals), Melanie Thurgar (as Finnius) (drums), and Angela Morosin (vocals). In chemistry, the letters (spdfgh...) are used when determining the number of electrons in the Electron shell, shells of an atom (the letters denote the first six states of angular momentum operator, orbital angular momentum in atomic physics). ''TV Week'' magazine called it "the dumbest name in Australian rock". Jep and Dep are an Australian folk noir acoustic duo from Sydney, composed of Jessica Cassar and Darren Cross. Formed in 2012, the duo have released one EP ''Through The Night'' (2012), and two albums ''Word Got Out'' (2014), receiving 4 out of 5 reviews from ''The Sydney Morning Herald'' and ''Rolling Stone'' and ''THEY'VEBEENCALLED'' (2017). Stephen Pavlovic (born 1966) is an Australian music entrepreneur. Pavlovic began promoting music tours, events and concerts in 1990.
