Labège
Labège (; oc, Labeja) is a commune in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitania region in Southwestern France. In 2019, it had a population of 4,008. Geography Labège is a commune in the metropolitan area of Toulouse. Its urban core is located in the southeast suburbs of Toulouse along the Autoroute des Deux Mers (A61) towards Narbonne. The bordering communes are Saint-Orens-de-Gameville, Auzielle, Escalquens, Castanet-Tolosan, Auzeville-Tolosane, and Ramonville-Saint-Agne. Labège-Innopole station and Labège-Village station have rail connections to Toulouse, Carcassonne and Narbonne. History The name "Labège" may be derived from La Berge ("The Bank") because of the town's location on the banks of the Hers-Mort. IoT Valley is a Business cluster, cluster created in 2011 and located in Labège in the south-east of Toulouse. This ecosystem is specialized in the Internet of things (IoT). A dovecote or dovecot , doocot ( Scots) or columbarium is a structure intended to house pigeons or doves. Dovecotes may be free-standing structures in a variety of shapes, or built into the end of a house or barn. They generally contain pigeonholes for the birds to nest. Pigeons and doves were an important food source historically in the Middle East and Europe and were kept for their eggs and dung.
