Labyrinth
In Greek mythology, the Labyrinth (, ) was an elaborate, confusing structure designed and built by the legendary artificer Daedalus for King Minos of Crete at Knossos. Its function was to hold the Minotaur, the monster eventually killed by the hero Theseus. Daedalus had so cunningly made the Labyrinth that he could barely escape it after he built it. Although early Cretan coins occasionally exhibit branching (multicursal) patterns, the single-path (unicursal) seven-course "Classical" design without branching or dead ends became associated with the Labyrinth on coins as early as 430 BC, and similar non-branching patterns became widely used as visual representations of the Labyrinth – even though both logic and literary descriptions make it clear that the Minotaur was trapped in a complex branching maze. Game Gear
The is an 8-bit fourth generation handheld game console released by Sega on October 6, 1990, in Japan, in April 1991 throughout North America and Europe, and during 1992 in Australia. The Game Gear primarily competed with Nintendo's Game Boy, the Atari Lynx, and NEC's TurboExpress. It shares much of its hardware with the Master System, and can play Master System games by the use of an adapter. Sega positioned the Game Gear, which had a full-color backlit screen with a landscape format, as a technologically superior handheld to the Game Boy. Though the Game Gear was rushed to market, its unique game library and price point gave it an edge over the Atari Lynx and TurboExpress. However, due to its short battery life, lack of original games, and weak support from Sega, the Game Gear was unable to surpass the Game Boy, selling 10.62 million units by March 1996. The Labyrinth was the debut concert tour by British pop singer Leona Lewis. Beginning on 28 May 2010, it showcased songs from her debut album, ''Spirit'' (2007). and her second album, ''Echo'' (2009). Dates in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland were completed with Australian singer Gabriella Cilmi serving as the support act for the majority of dates. Background The tour was announced on 12 November 2009, with the confirmation of dates in Ireland and United Kingdom. Lewis' record label apparently said that money was no object. Fashion designer Antonio Berardi designed Lewis's specially commissioned ethical wardrobe for the tour, costing £175,000. Gabriella Cilmi supported Lewis on the majority of the tour, with Hermione Hennesy supporting Lewis's Belfast dates and Alex Gardner supporting Lewis in Birmingham on 10 June. Labyrint (band)
Labyrint formed in 2007 was a Swedish hip hop music group from Gottsunda, Uppsala. After performing for a number of years together, in 2007, they had a breakthrough with "Vår Betong" and in 2009 collaborated with Masse from The Salazar Brothers to release a mixtape that became popular through downloads on Whoa.se website. Based on these successes, Universal Records expressed interest signing them to the label in 2011. However their launch was marred by Växjö cancelling their show after advice from the security authorities about the controversial use of cannabis during their gigs. This turned into a public debate in the media about drugs in hip hop culture. Walter Friedrich Schellenberg (16 January 1910 – 31 March 1952) was a German SS functionary during the Nazi era. He rose through the ranks of the SS, becoming one of the highest ranking men in the ''Sicherheitsdienst'' (SD) and eventually assumed the position as head of foreign intelligence for Nazi Germany following the abolition of the ''Abwehr'' in 1944. ''Labyrinth'' is an archaeological mystery English-language novel written by Kate Mosse set both in the Middle Ages and present-day France. It was published in 2005. It divides into two main storylines that follow two protagonists, Alaïs (from the year 1209) and Alice (in the year 2005). The two stories occur in a shared geography and intertwine. The novel relies heavily on historical events such as the massacre at Béziers and the Crusade against the Cathars in Occitania, now the South of France, from around 1200. The text itself features many Occitan and French quotes. Ultimately the story becomes a quest for the Holy Grail. In the 2006 British Book Awards, ''Labyrinth'' was awarded ''Best Read of the Year''.
