La Intrusa is a Venezuelan telenovela produced by Radio Caracas Televisión in 1986. Based on a story written by Inés Rodena, it is a remake of the 1971 telenovela ''La usurpadora'' which starred Marina Baura and Raul Amundaray with the new version being written by Ana Mercedes Escámez, Benilde Ávila and Zaret Romero. Mariela Alcalá played the dual role of twins Virginia and Estrella accompanied by Víctor Cámara as the male protagonist. Telenovela
A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs. This makes them shorter than most other television series, but still much longer than a miniseries. Rosita Quintana
Rosita Quintana (16 July 1925 – 23 August 2021) was an Argentine-Mexican actress, singer and songwriter. She was one of the top leading ladies of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. She starred in Luis Buñuel's '' Susana'' (1951) and musical films such as ''Serenata en México'' (1956) and ''Cuando México canta'' (1958). Her performances earned her acting awards from Mexico, Argentina, Russia, and Spain. In 2016, she received the Mexican Academy of Film Arts and Sciences' Golden Ariel Award for career achievement. Life and career Quintana was born Trinidad Rosa Quintana Muñoz in the Saavedra neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
