La Voz De Chincha
''La Voz de Chincha'' ('The Voice of Chincha') was a daily evening newspaper published from Chincha Alta, Peru. The newspaper was founded in 1924. Politically, it was supportive of the different governments in power during its existence. It carried the byline ''Diario independiente defensor de los intereses de la provincia'' ('Independent daily, defender of the interests of the province'). Luis A. Bianchi, Víctor Nagaro Bianchi and Ernesto Velit Ruiz served as directors of the newspaper. As of the late 1950s, it had a circulation of around 3,000. It had its own printing press. Its office was located at Colón 119, Chincha Alta. Issues of ''La Voz de Chincha'' carried between 4 and 8 pages, with a size of 45 x 36 centrimetres. As of the mid 1940s, it was sold at 10 centavos. Chincha Alta
Chincha Alta is a Peruvian city located in the Ica Region. A major port at the mouth of the Chincha River, it is the capital of Chincha Province. Location The City of Chincha Alta is located 200 kilometers south of Lima, in the Chincha Province of the Ica Region of Peru. The city covers an area of 2988 km2 and has a population of 56,085. Peruvian Sol (1863–1985)
The sol, later sol de oro (English: gold sol), was the currency of Peru between 1863 and 1985. It had the ISO 4217 currency code PES. It was subdivided into 10 ''dineros'' or 100 ''centavos''. It also had two different superunits over its circulation life, the inca (1881-1882) and later the gold pound (1898-1931, abbreviated ''Lp.''), both worth 10 soles.
