La Tele (Ecuador)
La Tele is an Ecuadorian television channel owned by Albavisión. Its programming consists primarily in foreign content that previously aired on RTS. The station is owned by Indetel, a company owned by a figurehead of Remigio Ángel González, and is a part of his Albavisión conglomerate. History The network has its origins in 1997 in Guayaquil with Costavisión and 1998 in Quito with Andivisión. Andivisión also operated one of González' radio stations in Ecuador, Tropicálida Stereo. In 2002, the channel's operating company was acquired by Chan Chang, one of González's aides. The stations were renamed Kanal 38 in 2004. In 2006, the stations were renamed again, this time to Red TV Ecuador. In 2010, during the cartoon slots, the channel was known for airing dating services searching for casual relations in a ticker at the bottom of the screen. SDTV
Standard-definition television (SDTV, SD, often shortened to standard definition) is a television system which uses a resolution that is not considered to be either high or enhanced definition. "Standard" refers to it being the prevailing specification for broadcast (and later, cable) television in the mid- to late-20th century, and compatible with legacy analog broadcast systems. The two common SDTV signal types are 576i, with 576 interlaced lines of resolution, derived from the European-developed PAL and SECAM systems, and 480i based on the American NTSC system. Common SDTV refresh rates are 25, 29.97 and 30 frames per second. Both systems use a 4:3 aspect ratio. Standards that support digital SDTV broadcast include DVB, ATSC, and ISDB. Canal 7 (Guatemalan TV Channel)
Canal 7 (''Canal Siete'', formerly Televicentro and Televisiete) is a Guatemalan terrestrial television channel owned by Grupo Chapín TV, a subsidiary of Remigio Ángel González's Albavisión group. Similar to sister channel Canal 3, the channel has a generalist profile. History Televicentro launched on December 15, 1964 under the TGBO-TV calls, with a daily schedule between 5pm and 11pm. The station was founded by the El Imparcial newspaper, with initial funding costing 250,000 quetzales and with video taping equipment worth 80,000 quetzales. At launch, the channel covered 80% of the Guatemalan territory. On December 5, 1965, the channel faced internal problems among shareholders, with José Quiñones as interventor. Around 1977, the channel was renamed Televisiete, likely due to its relations with Televisa. The station is acquired by Alba Lorenzana Cardona, wife of Remigio Ángel González, in 1980. Remigio Ángel González is a Mexican-born owner of the Latin American media network Albavisión. He has lived in Miami since 1987. The network (previously named Televideo Services) is named for his wife Alba Elvira Lorenzana, who is from Guatemala.
